My Story

Hi! I'm Ashtyn, a sweet little girl who love's life & is a real trooper! In April 2007 I was diagnosed with a very rare auto-immune disorder called Takayasu Arteritis. You can read below to read my full story & please feel free to leave a comment in guestbook. I would love to hear from you.

Journal

WOW!  As I write this journal update I am so overwhelmed with tears that I can hardly contain myself.  While I am typing, the voice of Ashtyn resounds in the background practicing her graduation songs.  Yes, that's right, her graduation songs for her Kindergarten graduation tomorrow!  With this preparation so much emotion comes along side.  It's always emotional to see our children meet these significant milestones, but 2 years ago the thought of this milestone brought many questions, hard questions at that, I remember questioning if she would be well enough to attend kindergarten at all and with early prognosis, we were so scared at the thought that she wouldn't even be with us on this occasion.  Not to sound dramatic, but I wanted to share these reflections to bring attention to the faithfulness of God.  He has been so faithful!!!  He not only has allowed her to be with us, but He has brought her through this year in "remission" and allowed her to experience Kindergarten as a normal little girl!  I cannot praise Him enough!!  And I cannot thank you all enough for your fervent prayers for Ash & our family!  I look forward to posting some pictures on here of her graduating!!

With this update I also ask you to join Ashtyn and our family in lifting up our close family friends Bo, Kay, Chase & Mary Katherine Lindley.   The Lindley's have been there for us more than I can even explain.  They were by our sides the moment we found out about Ashtyn's illness and have not left them, whether it be hugs, laughs (and lots of them), prayers or going to chemo with us, they have been by us, strengthening us & encouraging us.  Bo has been diagnosed with colorectal cancer and although the prognosis has been good (PRAISE GOD!!) Bo is facing very intense chemo treatments along with radiation and then surgery in a couple of months, followed by more chemo.   With this being said, my prayer is that you will join us as we go boldly before Christ, asking for a hedge of strength, peace & protection to surround each of them and that his physicians be filled with the knowledge of our Great Physician.  And that if it be His will that He will perform a miraculous healing.  God's going to show up and bless through this journey, we've been first hand witnesses of that before and we expect nothing less from our Good & Gracious God!

Thank you in advance for blessing the Lindley's with your fervent prayers.  You have blessed us more than you will ever know!

My love & thanks to you all,
Ragen
