Hi Ashley,
I hope you can come home soon.

I pray for a cure for NF. I have a young friend who has the same thing.

What do you like to do in summer? Can you do outdoor things?
One thing I like to do is go to the Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival. It starts Sept. 5 to 7.  There are many things to see. It is wheelchair friendly, if you need one. There is nearby parking for handicapped vehicles. There are many wooden boats in many sizes. Some are available to go aboard. There are one or two that take passengers out for a sail for a fee. There is an outdoor food area, Sea Ditty music, and free lessons in several different skill areas. I went by wheelchair two years in a row. They allowed my chair on the docks. On one dock I walked while the volunteer at the top watched my chair. This year I think I will be able to walk. There is even an Aid Center where EMTs are available for first aid. I went there when I had a blood sugar low. I got it after drinking a smoothie that contained a strange sweetener. They gave me glucose gel and I was on my way after a short while. Maybe you will feel like coming to see the sights this year.
Feel better soon.
Love, Linda

You are amazing Ashley and so glad you got to visit Cannon Beach.  We love the magic of that place too and Pig n' Pancake is the best!  Wish we had one here!  Praying for you every day and sending you lots of love and patience to continually work with your doctors to keep you safe and better.

Love,

Susan and Gene

Thank you, Ashley and family for this wonderful description of NF as a disorder and not a disease.  May I copy and paste your entry to Jay's CB page to help others understand what Ashley is going through and how NF affects her?  You can let me know via FB if you wish or by responding to Jay's CB guest book.
