My Story

My name is Aren and I am 12 yrs old. I am on my 5th surgery at Mott Children's Hospital. I am a special needs boy who gives more than I takes. I suffer from scolliosis and had spine fusion and metal rods put in my back on Nov. 27, 2007. It put me down and off my feet, but not out. I now get around with a walker, with hopes of throwing it out someday.

Remember when I said I was goin to throw out my walker someday. Well I am, but only because I wore it out. I had to get a new one. This one is red and much faster. It is not exactly what I intended, but it sure is better than using a wheel-chair all the time. So now when the time comes, I'll have 2 to throw out.
It sure was a good pool week and we kept it busy. Dad even got in it every day. Today is much cooler, but I got in anyway. It is nice to open up yhe windows agin. Buddy sure likes the cooler days as well. It is going to be nice all week and should warm up for the fourth. We are havin a "little" family reunion here that day, but hopefully it won't get to crazy.
Last Friday we had boys night out as Dad, Uncle Russ, & Papa Vern went to the tractor show at the Gilmore Car Museum. I did manage to get some icecream out of the deal, so it wasn't so bad. Saturday night I got stuck with all the ladies because Dad & Uncle Jerry went to their 25th class reunion. Wow they must be getting old . Sunday we celebrated Shelby's 18th birthday. Happy Birthday Shelby.
This week should go fast with the holiday. Hopefuuly I can catch some fireworks and have a bomb fire with all the fixins.
Dad got the porch sided now and is putting in the ceiling this week. Then he has to start getting the camper ready so we can go camping in a couple weeks. So everyone have a great week and safe holiday. I will keep staying wet in the pool and enjoying my break from school.
