Journal entry by Annette Hobart —
Hello All 👋
First, I have to say that I am thankful to be doing as well as I am!
We had a fairly quiet Thanksgiving at home and look forward to our normal Christmas at home.
I have been off of the pain med for a couple of months now and only have to use the muscle relaxer a few times a week. Usually when I overdo it (like at Thanksgiving - lol).
I am allowed to reach overhead for light items now, bend and twist at the waist, lift up to 20 pounds, and also do some driving!
My surgeon said that the hardware in my neck is stable but that I do still need to be careful of twisting my neck too quickly or too much.
Since the bone growth stimulator causes me pain, and I had to cut back on the amount of time that I use it, the cadaver bone is growing a bit slow.
I go back to see him in three months.
I am still playing a LOT of "catch-up" from being away from home those three weeks. All in all, though, I think it is going well.
Now, if I can just finish catching up, keep my youngest on-track with his homeschooling, AND get ready for Christmas...
Take Care, have a very Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year!
