Just thinking ofAnne today more than usual and wanted to say hello.  My usual question is "what would Anne do" when I'm arguing with my children to get to school, or doing homework, or craft projects.  Anne was so much more patience than I and she is the reason I continue to stive to be better.  :o) lots of love Kelli

To all of Anne's loved ones:
I'm thinking of you today and praying warm memories will overcome the sadness.

It's amazing to me to think about how much impact one beautiful life has on so many others.  I'm often reminded of how Anne dealt with her battle gracefully.  And how concerned she was about thanking some of us for little things we did to help her in the last few weeks of her life.  It wasn't necessary, but it was important to her that we knew she appreciated us.  We knew.  The feeling was mutual.

She gave us a bag of parent/child Christmas crafts in '08.  Even though she knew her days were numbered, she thought about blessing others!  We couldn't do all of them.  There were so many!  So I set them back on the shelf.  Last month, my son remembered the bag of crafts and pulled it down.  It was wonderful to think about her and to know she would love it that he and I are doing her Christmas crafts together again.  She gave me a precious gift.  One that continued almost a year after she was gone.  And I know I will continue to remember the gift she gave me (long after she was gone) every year when I pull out those wonderful, imperfect little ornaments.

Regardless of her circumstances, Anne shared her light with the world, she fought her battle with everything she had, and she left a noble legacy for her loved ones and friends.  Her example is an inspiration and a motivation to live my life mindful of the impact I have on those around me.

HOPE!

Know that I still think often of you all. I can't tell you how many times that I have seen someone that reminds me of Anne, whether in looks, or laugh or a smile. She was one of a kind and I miss her so much. She has left us all touched and loved. This will be a hard week for you all this year and for many to come. I hope that you will find more peace and happiness when you think of her, as I know I do.  Hug each other for me.

Please let me know if there is anything I can do for your family.

We should plan a get together with the MOMS Club friends if at all possible. I will plan it if you need someone to get the ball rolling.

Take care of yourselves!

it has been a year and i'm still thinking of and inspired by anne despite never having met her.  i truly cannot belive that one year has passed without anne.  i feel like i got to know her through her journals...and her love for her family and life was what kept me coming back.  there was never one entry where she asked "why me" but rather she dug in and prepared for the road ahead with such courage and grace.  i hope that the kids can see what an inspiration their mom was to others!

I was jogging around Lake Como yesterday morning and a bald eagle flew above me for quite a long time (considering it was a bald eagle in the middle of the city.) It made me think immediately of Anne and her spirit riding high in the sky, blessing all of us. It felt really peaceful, like she was trying to tell me that she was ok and that we should be at peace with her passing. I felt like she was there with me; I know how much she loved to jog! Being at the lake also made me think of all the great memories Anne and her friends and family have from time up at the lake.

I hope everyone is having a good summer. I am sure Anne's birthday next week will be a bittersweet day for folks but I know we will all be thinking warm memories of her on that day.

Love,
fred
