August 8, 2013....... We are holding all who love Anita in our hearts as we share this information with you.
We've created this site to keep family and friends updated, as we're asking for no visitors or phone calls at this time; but cards, letters, message posts, as well as good thoughts and prayers are appreciated.
Please leave your positive, love-filledcomments and/or fun stories you'd like to share HERE ON CARING BRIDGE
Some ideas for ways to share: Write what you love most about Anita Write what you will always remember about Anita Write what you have learned from Anita Write what you cherish about Anita
We're sorry that not all posts or inquiries will be responded to personally or even timely. As our family gently moves through this together, we will periodically respond; and do our best to update the site regularly.
Why we are sharing this site with you:
On Saturday August 3rd, 2013, Anita was diagnosed with an inoperable bi-hemispheric 7cm Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM); a stage 4 cancerous brain tumor.
Anita has decided to live each day and embrace her future, however short or long it might end up being; leaving it in God's hands.
Since she's choosing not to do chemo and radiation, the prognosis time is about 4 months. It's estimated the GBM has been growing for at least 2 months, probably longer.
Her short term memory seems to be the most adversely effected, but her long term memory is still relatively in tact. For example, she still remembers her loved ones and some happy memories. She has good days and bad days, and we can't predict them, so we're asking for your support in minimizing phone calls and visitation by just sharing your own memories and loving comments on this site.
This news has come as a shock to all of us who love her; and it is devastating....
...EXCEPT for the fact that Anita has become so joyful and overflowing with love; verbally appreciative of the love she has received throughout her lifetime and for her close and supportive family and friends. I think that's what they call "Grace", it's hard to be sad when around her because she's so joyful.
