Friends,
I just got back from DC where last week, I got clear results on my one-year PTscan.
Those are the only kind of results I would expect, and I keep wondering how many more times I have to prove to these people that the hodgklumps are gone for good. But because "hodgklumps" isn’t in their diagnostic code manual, I guess for the moment they still want films, so the answer is every 6 months or so.
I want to thank you all once again for all your rad lovin and good wishes throughout my 27th year.
Some of you had it easier than others. It was important for me to dive head first into the election - and radiation, we found, can make politics even crazier than normal. A huge hug and thank you to those who were closest to me, and had to blow through the traditional scripts about what illness should look like, and allowed me to do what fulfilled me the most – even as that meant sleeping under my desk some nights.
As I am about to embark on my 28th, I can look back what has been the most intense year of my life and see a country on the upturn, family and friends who love me, and my dad signing up for yoga. It's at moments like this that I remember that anything is possible.
I’ve posted some more recent photos, because after all, life goes on - and hair grows back.
Love love,
Anima
