Andy Tevepaugh's Journal
Updates about Andy
Written Apr 30, 2013 1:55pm by Nancy TevepaughIt's been a while since we posted anything about Andy. February 20 was a big day for Andy. He had the stent removed from his urinary tract, the PD port removed and a hernia repaired. I went to Charleston with him and were on our way home by 3:30PM. He is going to Charleston on a monthly basis now. Earlier this month his physical restrictions were lifted and he has been encouraged to exercise as his blood pressure is a little high.
Our lives have been busy preparing for Andy's marriage to Brittany. Their ceremony took place this past Saturday and everything went well. They are in Virginia staying at a bed & breakfast. They are sight seeing there and will go to Washington DC for a couple of days.

Written Jan 12, 2013 3:36pm by Nancy TevepaughAndy and Allyson reported to MUSC in Charleston Tuesday for pre-op tests. They reported to MUSC at 5:30 Wednesday morning. Allyson's surgery began around 7:30. At 10:30 we were told that the kidney had been removed and they started Andy's surgery. Around 3:00 we were told that Andy was out of surgery. both families and friends went out to dinner to celebrate. Andy's new kidney started working right away and the kidney function number dropped daily. Alyson was released Friday afternoon and Andy was released today. We are at the "transplant hotel" aka Spring Hill Suites. A home health nurse will come every day to check on Andy looking for signs of rejection and/or infection. Starting Monday they will do lab work at MUSC and he will attend clinic. We may return to Cayce as early as Thursday.

I think I'll feel a lot better about it once I get down to MUSC and go through all of the pre-op test. As always there is still time to donate to Project Andy and prayers are always welcomed. Thank you everyone who has been on this journey with me and my family over these last 7 months its been crazy but like I've said something like this really shows that there are amazing people still left in this world
