Its's been several weeks since our last update and a lot has occurred. Foremost, ANDREW has agreed to participate in a residential treatment program located in Virginia Beach, Virginia for the next several weeks for behavior modification and cognitive retraining.
Andrew struggled with containing his temper and his responses earlier this month and we saw his tolerance level diminish. Heydie and I launched a search for a center that had a challenging setting and well functioning survivors similar to Andrew along with a well qualified team. After a couple of weeks of visiting the locations we felt the Virginia program is a good fit for Andrew.
Now getting him there became the next challenge. No planes, cars, RV's and or boats only left us with the choice of a train. So Tuesday Andrew and I leave for a 20 hour train ride from South Florida to Virginia Beach. Heydie and Grandfather Gero will drive and meet us later in the week with Andrew's belongings. Auston will stay with the Grandmothers supervising them!
Auston has spent most of the summer away from home and just got back from Orlando after spending a fun day with me at Universal Studios. He has been a real trooper and has been wanting to come 'home'.
