Hey, it’s Ali again!
Who wants to hear another story?? Andrew gave me another birthday present! As if the other one wasn’t enough, Andrew gave me another awesome gift! It’s definitely at a different level than the other present, but to me, it’s still amazing. Here it goes…
Two years ago we had an end-of-summer party. I ended up jumping in the pool, with my clothes on, and my phone in my pocket. Big mistake. My phone obviously was ruined from excessive water damage. We tried everything to dry out the phone…put it in a bag of rice…let it sit…blow dry it – nothing worked. Well, this was, by far, my favorite phone I’ve ever had (lame, I know). Because it was my favorite, I kept it hoping one day, somehow, it might work. Randomly through the 2 years, I’d try to turn it on and hope it would work. No such luck.
Friday, October 3rd, I was home and looking through my drawers. I saw the phone in the back of the drawer and thought, ‘what the heck, I’ll try to turn it on again.’ This time was different…it turned on!!! I couldn’t believe it! It was around midnight and I screamed! I went running into my parents’ room, woke them up and told them what just happened! I told them that ‘Andrew keeps making this the best birthday ever!’ Ok, so not only did the phone turn on, but it works...perfectly! Of course, I immediately activated the phone…forget my other one! Anyway, I was in shock. I decided to go through the pictures and text messages that were still on the phone from 2 YEARS AGO! There are AMAZING pictures of Andrew on this phone!! I’m so glad it turned on so I was able to see them again! Again, Andrew tends to outdo himself, so for him the pictures weren’t enough. I was going through the text messages and the last text saved said:
Fr: Andrew
Triple S -- Stay Strong Sis!
Jul 18, 10:56 pm
This text message is from July 18, 2006 at 10:56 pm. I have no recollection of why he may have been telling me to Stay Strong back then…but it’s amazing to me that that text message, from ANDREW, is on my phone, that hasn’t worked for two years, and all of a sudden, when I need it most, it works and this message shows up!!
Andrew’s, again, reminding me to stay strong and not to give up. Of course, I immediately locked that text message so I can save it forever! Andrew continues to impress me.
Also, the main picture and one other in the Photos section are 2 of the photos I found on this phone!!
Thanks for all the birthday wishes. It was the best birthday ever!

PS. This is off topic, but… I know my dad mentioned this before, but you have no idea how excited I am. In Delaware, you have to be 18 by October 8th, 2008 to vote in the presidential election. I made it by 2 days!! So many things could have prevented me from voting…like if I were on time!! (I was three weeks early!) Everything happens for a reason!! So if you couldn’t tell, I’m so into this election. I have so many opinions that I’d LOVE to share with all of you, but I know politics aren’t something everyone likes to talk about. To me, I have no problem with it if it means making more people aware of what’s going on. Everyone’s allowed to have their own opinion, right?
No matter who you like in this election (don’t get on my bad side about this unless you want to have a heated debate J just kidding, kindof… I would like to hear why them though…) you HAVE to vote. I don’t care if you vote for the person I don’t like (well I do care, but I respect your opinion), you must vote. If you don’t vote and let your voice be heard, you can’t complain when you don’t like what’s going on with our country in the years to come. If you’re unsure of who to vote for, now’s the time to start learning. Read about the candidates. Watch the debates!! (but after the debate, look online [http://www.factcheck.org/] to see how much of what they said was factualJ) Please vote…our country’s in the worst shape it’s been in, in some time now, and that’s not acceptable. Learn about the candidates and figure out whose beliefs you agree with most. No matter who wins, this is a monumental election. It’ll make history either way! Why wouldn’t you want to vote and be able to say that your vote made history? When future generations are learning about this election in US History class or something, how cool would it be to be able to say, “yeah, I voted in that election!” It’s easy; just vote!
