"He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand." Psalm 40:2
From Mark and Brandy:
"Wanted to give everyone some amazing news of things that are happening in our lives as well as Andrew's. God is working some amazing miracles, and here are just a few. Yesterday Andrew walked from our hallway to my bedroom without using his walker!!!! Don't worry, he carried it in case he needed it for balance. Brandy went crazy on us when she heard.
I am not sure if everyone knew this, but last week we got news that Andrew could not graduate due to a paperwork error made by the school board. If Andrew was to graduate, he would have to take a 1/2 credit of English II . With only a week and a half left in the school year, we had our doubts. His teacher (Mrs. Vozne) has some serious contacts within the school board and was able to get a laptop with Nova Net software loaded on it. Nova Net is the software program that he needed in order to take the class. Mrs. Vozne and her sister CJ came to the house and worked with Andrew 3-5 hours a day, and as a result of their efforts and hard work from Andrew he was able to complete the class. His teacher said that the school board could not believe that someone could complete a 1/2 credit course so fast. The school board required that he get at least a B on his final exam in order to graduate. Well the amazing news is that Andrew got an 88 on his final exam and has now been promoted to college. Well, the blessings don't stop there, today Andrew enrolled in college !!!!!!
WOW! God is really working in this family. Next is the planning for the big graduation party. Get ready everyone; we have so many people to thank for their prayers and this is a great opportunity to do so. We look forward to seeing everyone that is able to attend, and for those who are out of state and can't make it, we cannot thank you enough for all of your thoughts, prayers, and financial help when we needed it most. We also need to thank Pam Broucinek; she has been amazing taking the time to post all of our updates. I know for a fact that she has alot of things going on in her family life, but still continues to help us. She is an amazing woman and I get compliments everyday about her amazing writing skills. May God Bless you as he continues to bless us!"
It is with a tremendous sense of awe, gratitude, praise, and joy that I post this update. What God has accomplished in these past many months is a wonder that He alone has allowed to transpire. We have cried, prayed, rejoiced, been jubilant and afraid as we have held vigil over Andrew and his family. We raised pleading hands and hearts as Andrew entered the valley of the shadow of death, and we bowed in reverence as he returned. Some will have honored access to the deep and lasting mark that God has made in the hearts of the Gallegos/May family, and some will witness from afar the hand of a loving Heavenly Father who has reached down to save a young man's life. But all of us who have been touched by this story will be, in some measure, forever changed.
This will be my final update, and I offer my own humble thanks that I could have been some part of the story God is writing in Andrew's life. I never could have imagined, as I posted that first somber update, what God would write on my own heart. Our Father loves His children, and He will not waste an opportunity to touch us with His grace. I hand the reigns to Mark, Brandy and Andrew as they stand side by side to move forward on the path of life. I pray for each of you to know the love and saving grace of a mighty, redeeming Savior.
