Dear friends,
I thought the days were over when we would have a reason to update this journal. But we need your prayers again.
Three weeks ago, Andrew began experiencing dramatic blood pressure spikes again. At one point his bp hit 243/160 - higher than it was when he stroked 2 years ago. We went to the Floyd Medical Center ER, where the doctors gave him clonadine and nitroglycerin. When his bp was down to 178/80. At that point, the doctor gave him a prescription for four more bp medicines and sent him home.
The medicines make him feel sluggish and slow, and bring his blood pressure down to 155/90 ish. Andrew is less steady on his feet than in many months.
We believe that one of Andrew's stints has failed. If we can get the stint replaced or repaired, Andrew could get back to recuperating. He has been making such phenomenal progress!
But we are at a loss to know how to get him appropriate medical care. He is not on Medicaid. He is too old to be on our insurance, and not really at a point where he can work full-time and have his own insurance.
Please pray for wisdom and for an open door for medical care.
