Well, Son, we just returned from your daily visit to the Rocky Mountain Cancer Center and they think you are a champ! This is day four since your transplant. Today was the first EVER that you haven’t had to get an IV, even for hydration! They can’t believe how few side effects you have had, mainly tiredness… Your blood levels are down as expected – almost zero white blood cells (0.2) – so don’t catch a cold, OK? If your hemocrit goes too low you will need a transfusion, but the Doc says that is pretty usual. And God continues to use you – our frequent “elevator message” is “we are doing pretty well, one-day-at-a-time, by the grace of God!” (Used twice today in two different elevators!) You know, you wonder how people make it without Jesus… But folks want to hear from you! We love you Son! Dad, for all… *sighs*
Verse of the day: 'For to me to live is Christ...' Philippians 1:21a
Thought of the day: You know, when you get right down to it, Christianity is a relationship and not a religion. And that relationship is knowing Jesus Christ, walking daily with Him, and surrendering all to Him. We should be able to proclaim as the Apostle Paul suggests, 'My entire worth and the essence of my life is in Jesus Christ' don't you think?
'My only prayer request is that God would be glorified in this trial. My first inclination as a human being was to pray that I would be healed, but I do not think that this is why God has placed me in this position. I am limited, but Christ is unlimited!' Andrew Haines Dunn
