Alyssa’s Story

Site created on March 9, 2008

Welcome to our CaringBridge site. Our sweet Alyssa went to be with Jesus on March 29, 2009 at 5:25 pm. She will forever be loved and missed! There was no evidence of cancer when she passed!

Alyssa is a very intelligent straight A student. She loves school and loves to read. Currently she is very interested in Hannah Montana and High School Musical. Alyssa was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma in early February of 2008. She has since gone through several procedures, seven rounds of intense induction chemotherapy, two major surgeries to remove tumor in her abdomen, high dose chemotherapy to kill all her bone marrow before transplant, and radiation therapy. Alyssa received her bone marrow transplant at Duke University Hospital on Oct. 2, 2008. Thank you for your love and support and for checking in on us!

Journal entry by Ginger Boyd

Hello everyone!

I don't have many words these days, just many thoughts! I miss Alyssa every day and some days it hurts worse than others. I find myself longing for Heaven more and more each day! I want to say thank you to everyone who has kept up with us all of this time! With that said, I want to let everyone know that I will be closing out this website in the very near future. I created this site so that everyone could be updated on Alyssa's condition and treatments. Now that she is in heaven, I want to create a book from this site and close the site. Please know how much I appreciate all of you and all that you have done!!!

If you want to keep in touch with me, you may friend me on facebook. My new married name is Ginger Payne. Please keep in touch.

Love you all,

Ginger
