Alison Owen's Journal
Time to catch you up..
Written Jun 12, 2013 4:06pm by Alison OwenSo happy summer is here! It will be a great break!
Alison finished the school year and doesn't even have to take summer school! She's got A's and B's and a pass in French class. I'm so proud of her!
She continues physical therapy and is getting stronger every day. Her goal is to run a mile soon.
We had 2 appointments at children's today. The psychologist appointment went well and Ali is feeling much better-so probably won't need to go back there! She also had her eye appointment. Her brain has adjusted to her double vision which they think is getting better. Since she is not having a problem with it, no surgery!!!! Yippee! More prayers have been answered! We don't have to go back unless her vision gets worse, which is NOT going to happen! ;)
Next major apt is in July which is her day long neuro test which measures her cognitive abilities.
Overall, she sure is doing great! Thanks again for your prayers and support still. It's been a long road and still have a ways to go, but getting there!
A little scare...
Written Apr 19, 2013 10:11am by Alison OwenAlison was having chest pain and shortness of breath. I took her to the emergency room last night. I was concerned something was going on with her lungs due to the accident. They did an EKG and took a chest X-ray. All was ok. What she has is Costochondritis- chest wall pain caused by the inflammation of the cartilage which connects each rib to the sternum. it should get better on its own and she can take ibuprofen for it. Thank God it wasn't her heart or lungs!
Written Apr 16, 2013 3:28pm by Alison OwenAlison had an Opthamology apt yesterday. She claims that her double vision has gotten a little better. The doc thought maybe she's just getting used to it. He agreed to give her one more month to see if it corrects itself. So no surgery yet! Ali was happy!! She's still going to PT twice per week and trying to remember to do her exercises every day. Still at school part time and getting help from home bound teacher!
