My Story

Just a few months after Alexi was born in 1998, she was diagnosed with a rare disease called Histiocytosis (LCH). After nearly 7 years of low-dose chemo and lots of hugs and kisses, Alexi enjoys a normal life. Her port was removed (2007) and no longer is on chemo!

Happy Summer!

I know, it's been 6 months since I last updated Alexi's site.  So let me give you a quick update:

1.  Alexi is doing great.  We visited her hemonc doc in May and she's got a clean bill of health!  She is also due for her final immunization and will be all caught up!

2.  She's now going to be a 5th grader!  That means MUSIC and she's excited to start playing the cello.  I'm so happy for her!

3.  The summer is filled with fun, swimming and ... vacations!  Both Alexi and Tori will be going to Boston with me and Grandma in July, and then to Mexico for a few weeks with their dad.

4.  Since I stopped working my full-time job, I've been loving the early retirement life.  Cleaning out the house, garage sale coming up soon, and spending the summer with the girls (including Pepper, the Black Lab).  We have been doggie sitting, doing pet photos, really enjoying this time off together.  Believe it not, we are really happy!

Our prayers go out to our histio friends and families, we think of you every day.  Also Happy Birthday to Kiara and Eileen who turned 5 this month!  YAY!  Congrats to Wes and Robin for their 22nd Annivesary and to Grandma and Grandpa for their 54th Anniversary, too!  Happy Birthday, Rich!  Prayers to my friend Deb and her cousin, Lana and her family, and to Chris and Mav.
