So, Alex started his hyperbaric treatment on Monday and it went off without a hitch. He dove to a depth equivalent to 40 feet below water and breathed 100% oxygen for 90 minutes. I went in with him for the first time and it was a piece of cake. Apparently we were the first pair of people to go into a monoplace chamber. The chamber is really designed for 1 person but we fit with a little room to spare. He has also started home bound schooling again which seems to be going well. His walking is stabilized at the moment but we hope that will improve with this hyperbaric treatment. He is still on high dose steroids which make him an eating maniac. Unfortunately he has also put on a great deal of weight in a short period of time. That was not really the way we wanted him to gain weight. He has a very chipmunkish appearance right now. We are hoping to eventually completly come off of the steroids.
