Dad here:

As I watch my family gathered around "little sis" and she breathes as though that breath is her last, there is no father, on this day, at this time, who could be prouder.  Ethan, Amanda and Abby lie on the bed w/ Alexa and cry and touch her and although they are upset I am so utterly certain that they finally know this is the best thing for Alexa.

We've prayed for a miracle of healing and although this is not the one we wanted, it is, in and of itself, a miracle.  Alexa is being changed as we speak.  She is breaking out of the cocoon that cancer has wrapped her in and is emerging as a beautiful butterfly ready to go from cloud to cloud in Heaven.

She is treading that thin white line trying to stay within the boundary of this life but knows she must move on.

I'll keep you informed.
