Alan is in the hospital again.  He started feeling sick late Saturday night and early Sunday morning.  Without going into too much detail, ever since the accident Alan can no longer go to the bathroom on his own so we have to do a bowel program.  Nothing was working and his stomach was so distended and he was in a lot of pain.  We did three enemas and three bottles of magnesium citrate and still nothing.  Finally we had to call the paramedics and bring him to the emegency room.  They found that he had a blockage in his upper intestines.  The blessing is that they have also found out that he has a really bad infection too.  The doctor thinks that the infection may be infecting his small bowel.  So they have him on IV antibiotics and are waiting on cultures to find the one that works.  (So much for not too much information!)  :)

Alan has been doing much better lately.  I apologize for not updating more frequently.  I do much better with facebook, where I can put a quick note out there so our family and friends know what is going on.  We have to start our day before 5:00 so I can take care of Alan, get the kids dressed and fed before we have to leave to take Skylar to school at 7:30.  By the end of the day I'm just beat, so that's why I kind of took a break.  We have been touched by all of the emails that we still get even we when don't say anything at all.  They truly mean so much to us and we thank you.  Your prayers and thoughts really help more than you can imagine.

I don't know where this path is going to take us.  Right now I'm doing everything to keep us all together and give the kids normal lives.  Brandon is playing t-ball again this Spring and doing soccer at school.  Skylar will be starting soccer next week and takes piano and does ballet.  We get a lot of emails saying that we should put Alan in some type of facility and I'm aksing that you please don't say that.  That is something that I just can't not imagine doing.  It is so hard on our family when Alan is in the hospital and we are all separated.  He is my husband and our childrens father and I am going to keep us all together.

Yesterday I snuck the kids up here for a visit and this is a picture from it.  They said no kids under 12, but I managed to get them in here and once I did our nurse let them stay and even got them a milkshake!  It did us all a world of good!

Thank you again for all of your prayers!  I pray that you have a blessed day!

Love and blessings,
