My Story

Aiden's Army added 1972 donors to the National Registry and contributed over $100,000 to cover costs. As of January 2007 we've learned of 4 completed transplants and 25 others that have been called as potential donors! Simply phenomenal!

Go to www.marrow.org and register to become a bone marrow donor for FREE! Usually this costs about $100 per person, but for the month of June you can become a member of the registry for FREE!

The National Marrow Donor Program is holding a Marrowthon from June 8-22. During this time you can register to be a bone marrow donor for FREE (while funding is available). If you have ever considered being a bone marrow donor but couldn't for financial reasons - then now is your chance to make a difference in someone's life.

This opportunity will not last long! Join today and YOU could be the one to save someone's life.

Many times it is a bone marrow transplant that makes a difference in a child's life who suffers from a histiocytic disorder. A bone marrow transplant is the difference between living life day to day in a hospital room and going home.

It's quick and easy to join. It take only about 20 minutes to complete the questionnaire. Then all you do is wait for your 'cheek swabs' to arrive in the mail, swipe the inside of your mouth with a giant Q-tip, and send them back to the NMDP - It's that easy!

Update on Aiden:

Sorry it's been awhile since I've updated. We actually received great news since my last update. We are now on 6 month visits to the hospital. Aiden was due to have a bone marrow biopsy in May, but we discussed this with the doctor and all agreed that it didn't seem necessary. Whatever it was that was messing with his system last Fall appears to be gone. So now we don't have to go back until August! Yipee!

We are anxiously awaiting the end of the school year and for some nice weather to come our way. We've already been swimming in the pool, but the sunny days have been few and far between. We are forever grateful to everyone who helped us to create Aiden's little sanctuary in our backyard. We continue to feel so lucky to be able protect our little man for yet another season. Aiden goes in the pool about mid-morning and doesn't come out until after dinner. He is a swim-a-holic!

Brieona is testing for her black belt this weekend. We can't wait to see her break a piece of concrete in half with her hand! Alexi is reading like crazy (just like Mommy) and has finished up gymnastics for the season. We are all looking forward to cousin Kelly's wedding in which all three children are part of the wedding party. Plus our friend Clementine is coming to visit us from France this summer. We have some exciting celebrations ahead of us.

We continue to send out good wishes to all of those who continue to fight HLH and other illnesses.

Spread the word and join the National Marrow Donor Registry today! A stranger saved Aiden's life. You could do the same for someone desperately in need! Thanks!
