NEW PICTURES!!!!!!!!
Adi is definitely enjoying life in America!!! We went to the zoo a few weeks ago but we still haven't been to the beach since the weather has been too cold. :( We are hoping for some warmer days so we can go enjoy the beach! I got a job this week...I will be caring for seniors in their houses. I will do things like laundry, housekeeping, make meals, drive them to appointments or errands, etc. I am excited and the hours are EXTREMELY flexible!
In other exciting news...I called City of Hope to see about getting Adi's records transferred to CHLA because I thought they wouldn't take our insurance but GOOD NEWS....We can be seen for follow up care at City of Hope!!! We are SO excited and blessed to be able to continue our care with Dr. Anderson at City of Hope! He is the most amazing doctor I have ever met!! When we called, we also got invited to City of Hope's pediatric picnic which was today! The picnic was Comic and Cartoon Carnivale and it was AMAZING!!!! We got there and checked in and then got our picture taken with Batman and all his friends in front of the batmobile...Adi was thrilled and told Batman that he is his favorite superhero! Then Adi spotted Mickey Mouse! He has never seen him in person and he was SO excited! He ran up to him and hugged him and the look on his face was priceless!! We also saw Minnie but didn't get to meet her! Adi got to go to the front of the line to meet Corbin Bleu (Chad) from High School Musical. He talked to him for a few mintues and he told him he just moved here from Romania and that his girlfriend in Romania loves High School Musical. It was so cute! He is the guy in the picture with Adi! Adi got a spongebob tattoo, ate great food from Bristol Farms and then we walked around. There were original artists there that draw the Disney, Warner, Marvel characters, etc. Adi stood in line for awhile to get an original Spiderman drawing which is SO good. He also got a pluto drawing later on! While we were standing there, he got to see lots of characters including one of his favorites...Curious George! We also got to meet another City of Hope family (Andrew Philippone and his family)...that was exciting to meet another family who we have only followed through the internet! I found out about Andrew just after he was diagnosed and emailed his parents. We have been following his journey since! Then we went to play a bunch of carnival games. Adi won 2 webkinz ( an elephant and a cat) and a bunch of tickets...we went to pick out one of the cool prizes and this nice guy gave Adi more tickets so he was able to pick a bigger prize. He got this big Hummer that plays music and moves and it is cool! He loves it! He got a few other small prizes as well. We got to ride on this small train over a 1 mile track with small houses and villages, bridges and tunnels. It was so cool!!! Then Adi also got to meet Debby Ryan from The Suite Life on Deck on the Disney Channel. He was so cute talking to her...he had NO CLUE who she was but then again, I didn't really either! Oh well!! There was a magic show and Adi got to volunteer and help out! He was so happy the whole time!! We got to hang out a little with Adi's doctor, Dr. Anderson!! He is so cool!!! We also got to see his secretary, Katie who has been such a big support for Adi and I! Dr. Anderson had us talk to the media department because he thinks that Adi would be a good story for fundraising for City of Hope! They took down our story and our numbers and they might call us to do a story on us! I would love to help City of Hope in anyway that we can! We had an awesome day!! Now we can't wait to go to City of Hope for follow up scans!!! :) Tomorrow we are going to a local park for a survivor picnic for American Cancer Society. We are also doing relay for life for ACS in October! I am a team captain for Team Adi! I added tons of new pictures so check them out!! Thanks for all the love and support!!
Love,
Kari and Adi
