Another long month since we updated last. We have been in and out of the hospital again a few times. They were shorter stays but no fun. Addison continues to have aspiration issues related to reflux. We tried switching to a G-J tube from a G tube (G-J feeds to the intestines) but we had issues with that as well. It was placed twice in one week by radiology in Madison and both times it backed out into the stomach and needed to be removed. Addison does not seem to like it. Despite all of this we did still manage a short trip to the FSMA conference in Boston. It was 1000 miles one way and made for a long drive but both girls did well. We drove 10 hour to Erie, PA and then drove the rest of the way the next day. We did make a pitstop at Niagra Falls. The girls REALLY enjoyed that. In fact so much that we also stopped on the way home! Shannon taught a workshop at the conference on how to adapt toys for our kids. The workshop was a success and we were asked to come back next year. We will be having a GI study soon where they will take a closer look at how Addison's food is digested and emptyied from the body. This will hopefully give us some more clues as to what is going on with the aspiration and reflux.
