Hey There,
I just want to say hello and that we all are still carrying on. All days are not the same. Many times it’s difficult to even explain why you get in a certain “funk”.
Michele is still experiencing emotional episodes. Lauren has also had some rough days. We all have had them, although I don’t get too emotional anymore.
The reason I even post that is because although we believe, we are not immune to the pain or the struggle involved. One difference between a believer and a non-believer is the acceptance of God and his Lordship. Why it is available to all of us, many do not desire to submit to anyone. The word Obey has become a dirty and abusive word in some circles. But the result of accepting Jesus as Lord is submitting to His will and that includes accepting things we do not have control over. Trusting his Lordship beyond our ability to understand. Once we can receive this truth, we are enabled to rejoice even in times so dire, yes, even unto death.
I have been personally tracking a local boy, Elijah Wilson, he’s 4 years old and just started his brain tumor journey.
http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/elijahwilson I learned about Elijah when I visited my doctor. With everything I have personally been through, I have no words to explain why such things happen. This is something that must be worked through, between you and your creator. I will say God has shown me these struggles are opportunities for Eternal Glory if it is sprinkled with faith producing spiritual growth. The same fire that refines can also cause destruction.
We must realize that the only thing that separates all of us from a similar fate is time. Time is what now separates me from Adam. I will see him again.
One of my most favorite things Jesus said was when he asked “Who do they say that I am?”. Who do you say that Jesus is? Is He a magical being that grants wishes to show you favor? Is He a harsh judge, that will condemn you to hell? Is He a being that has no control or power over any situation? Can you make Him out to be (Image) whatever you want him to be? Is He a Santa Clause where you give him a list of things you want and only get them if your good? Does He even care about the truth? Does He know who you are? Does He know the hardships you have endured? Does He ever regret? Is he corrupt? Is he a law breaker yet still pretty good? Has He ever changed his mind? Does He really love you? Is He handsome like Brad Pitt? Does He answer prayer? Does it even make any difference if you even know Him?
John 17:3 (NIV) Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.Seems he defined Eternal Life in terms of knowing Him. We know we will not fully know Him until we see him face to face. How well do you know him? Is He someone you would introduce to a friend? Why do you suppose someone would not want to know someone who is so good? I believe it’s because in general most have been deceived about who they say that He is.
Mathew 11:28-30 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
Have a great and wonderful 4th of July. Our country really needs prayer.
God Bless
