James (Rex) Avery’s Story

James Avery Clark, known to family and friends as Rex, was born June 07, 2012 at Gaston Hospital to mom, Charlotte, dad, Alex and big brothers Austin and Gabe Clark. Rex weighed 7 lbs 12 oz and measured 20.5 in long. Rex's favorite thing to do is play in the water. His eyes light up and his sweet smile shines.

At Rex's eight weeks check up, August 08, 2012 the doctors discovered low muscle tone. Rex has since been diagnosed with SMA (spinal muscular atrophy), type 1. Currently, Rex and his family are thankful to be home and enjoying the precious time God has given them as a family. His condition can not be helped through medicine but only through God and prayer.
