Good Thursday Morning from Snohomish!
"Home Sweet Home"!!! We are so glad to be home...After sleeping in a hospital bed for more than 10 weeks total these past two summers, we will never take for granted sleeping in our own bed again!
The flight home Tuesday evening was a tough one for Matt - even with a direct first class flight! But knowing this was the last leg of this long journey and our family was getting closer made it definitely easier! How blessed we were to be covered with hugs and kisses from our grandchildren!
We spent yesterday thoroughly enjoying the Pacific NW summer sun, visiting with our neighbors, relaxing, reading and resting on the lounge chairs and so very grateful to be home! Chores such as unpacking, laundry and dishwashing was such a joy...we area definitely ready for homelife to become our normal again!
How thankful we are for all the help and support during these past weeks and many months...from our neighbors who have mowed & weedwacked, to our kids (including our 7 yr old grandson) who tended our home and kept the gardens well watered, to the excellent nursing care at WHC and their friendship, to the many prayers and posts that have been so encouraging and uplifting.......and God bless Dr. Sugarbaker! He has truly been God's handed to us!
These next days and weeks will be filled with much rest for Matt as his body heals...and with that healing Matt is praying the fatigue he has experienced for so many months will "heal" also! The doctor has given him very strict orders to take it easy and especially to not lift over 10lbs for the next 6 months! We're sure he does not ever want to do another incisional repair on Matt....and we can second that!!
God's blessings to you all!
Thankful to be home,
Matt and Diana
