Hi everyone! Sorry for the late entry post port removal. Caroline was a trooper as usual. She was not worried a bit until after the surgery, she saw the huge pressure bandage on her upper chest. She cried and cried until one of the best nurses ever, paged Dr. Tracy. When he saw how upset she was about the bandages, he made a deal with her. He said she could take them off a day early if she promised to skip gym clas and to take it easy for a couple of days. She reluctantly agreed. (She is one tough 6 year old).
This morning, I was a bit more frazzled than usual. I realized that I only had my pink Team Caroline bracelet on and the orange one was missing. I left for school late as I searched for my year long companion...the orange bracelet. Before she left for school, Caroline said, "Mom, be happy, you still have the pink bracelet". UGH! Why does she always have to teach me how to be a strong grown up!
When I got to school, 2 of my dearest Team Caroline friends greeted me and told me that my lost bracelet was surely a sign that I could let go of the last year and move on to better times. Caroline is going to be just fine! Thank you all for your constant kind words and prayers! She prays every night that her cancer will stay away forever. So do I! Thanks for your love!
love, kathy xoxoxoxoxoCaroline
