Sorry for the lack of input on Syds site, Sarah and I have been extremely busy and now with our youngest daughter being 3 its total chaos around our house, Syd is doing very well she made the A honor roll 3 times this year and the A-B once, what a smart cookie, she got it from her mom,
She is actually on vacation with My dad and Step mom in Pigeon Forge Tenn, this week they have been to Dolly Wood and some sort of water park as well. SHe will be in 3rd grade next year as well as taking 4th grade subjects hopefully.

Hip hop, hippety hop
My “Easter Bunny” went off to the shop,
He bought me an egg and lots of chocs
And packed them into a cardboard box.
Then he wrapped it with paper and shiny string
It really was such a pretty thing.
Disaster struck when I opened the door-
He slid across the parquet floor,
He went round the corner and past the stairs
And finished up in a pile of chairs.
Of the Easter goodies not a trace,
he’d thrown them into my fireplace!
So a warning before you go opening doors
Make sure your “Bunny” has non-slip paws!

Happy Easter

With lots of love,

Everyone at Post Pals

God fills your heart in a truley beautiful way.
And may, He in His reach from heaven above,
Flow the wonderful family spirit, of His love.

HI Guys,

I've been out of state, meeting with another CB family, but I have not forgotten you at all.
I have to tell you, my vacation with this famiy was very nice, but also very much eye opening. Those of us out here, just take so much for granted, then when given the chance to see what someone goes through, well....I can say I have a new outlook on life!!

I'm glad to read that Miss Sydney is doing well. She's growing up so fast!!! Continue the journey in moving FORWARD and remember that we are moving FORWARD with all of you!!

Have a wonderful upcoming weekend!!

Hey guys, I am so glad Sydney is doing so well. She is certainly a fighter and very strong willed. As are her parents. She is a sweetie, can't wait to see you 3 again, hopefully it is soon. She will be walking very soon and talking. She is growing up to be a big girl. Take care, and know that we are still praying for Sydney.

Hi,

We are so glad that Sydney is doing really well, and the infection is gone! Christina is still holding on there. Things are getting better but still very busy. We would also like to find a babysitter for Christina like Sydney, but at this time we couldn't because of the infection concern. There is still a long way ahead of us.
We will pray for Sydney continously doing well.

I guess Amy and I had the same thought. It's good to hear of Sydney's progress. I guess you know my friend, Linda Keener, at the clinic. She can be a wonderful source of strength. She has been my friend since we were teenagers.
We continue to pray for your family. We praise God for all He has done.

Sydney,
I was introduced to you on a jar in a convienence store. Who would have ever thought that someone so small could inspire so many. You are a fighter even though you may not understand what you are fighting against. When you grow up, you will read these entries and try to imagine some purpose to all your suffering. You can be assured of this. More people will find themselves closer to God because of you. In this often negative world we live in, there is one thing we often lose sight of. That is HOPE. You are Hope's Smile. Thank you for you.

Hi Sarah-

I haven't checked in on you guys in a while, but I've been thinking about Sydney and hoping she was doing well. It sounds like she is!!! Starting week 18 next week? That's the start of maintenance, right? Woohooo!!! Isabelle felt so much better once she got to maintenance... and the days of F&N became much, much fewer and farther between. Wishing Sydney smooth sailing into maintenance. I am so happy for you guys!

The only negative of maintenance for me, was that Isabelle's counts were so great, I lost my excuse for not going to the grocery store. ;-) That's the sign of good times. Lots of love and healing thoughts coming your way. Kiss that beautiful girl for us.

We won't give up praying for you either. Hopefully we'll get back to this site sooner than we did from last time, it's been a month!!! In a month, you've started "walking", you're getting another tooth, etc. Who knows what else you'll do in the next month. Take care and we love you!!!!!!

Hello Sunshine....

I am sorry that I wasn't here for a couple days. I had to run back up north to where my mom is. She took a real bad fall at a store and literally shattered her right wrist into several dozen pieces, and has a very large, very painful break on the top of the wrist. She's going to have surgery next Friday, so I will probably be gone again!!

How has your weekend been thus far?? Did you get to watch some fireworks??? They are always so pretty! Loud, but pretty!!!

Please let me know how things are going when you get the chance.
Have a great rest of the weekend. Know that you are always in my thoughts and prayers!!!

We haven't been able to get to the website in awhile and I see we've missed a lot. Sorry to hear the results came back positive, however, I'm sure "lil miss sunshine girl" will pull through it (as you said, she's definitely a fighter)! Thanks for keeping everyone updated, it makes it so much better when we don't get to see you often. That reminds me, sorry we won't be able to make it this weekend either. One of these days we'll get down there again. We have and will continue to pray for all three of you. Last thing, I'd love to make a square for the quilt as well, but have no earthly idea where to begin. If there's any help or advise out there, please let us know where to start!! Troy......

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!!

What Makes a Dad?

God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,

The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle's flight,

The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need.

Then God combined these qualities.
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so, He called it ... "DAD!"

Hi,
Just let you know we are thinking about Syd. I know how exciting it is when we see the little ones growing step by step. Glad to know Syd is doing well. Thanks for bringing many friends praying for Christina. We are home now, but get even busier. Beside visiting clinic everyday (for next few weeks), we have to give her IV (4) and oral(2) medicine at home twice a day. Also she is still on TPN at night. We have NEVER been so busy. So far Christina is doing pretty well, although we have long way to go.
Thanks again for having a thought on Christina. Hope Syd is getting better everyday.

Sarah and Troy,

We are still with you. All of the way.

Sydney's pictures are beautiful. A visit here to see her makes our day much brighter. She is in our prayers daily at church and at work. I hope and pray that during the coming week, of such holiness, that Sydney will gain the medical progress needed for her recovery. God's blessings be with her and keep you safe and healthy.

Thank you so much for keeping your wonderful journal. And many thanks to Wesley Chapel UMC for giving all an opportunity to help. I will be sharing their message with others in our congregation and beyond during the week. If there is a need for help in any other way, we are available.

EASTER greetings to you, your families and to the doctors and staff at the hospital. And to the guestbook people who, like me, keep Sydney close in their hearts.

In Christian love,

Hi,
Thanks for signing our guestbook. Just let you know we often check your little one's progress. Hope she is doing better. There is alot to say since both of us have a duaughter with the same disease diagnosised around the same time. I am kind of doing research on my own, and try to make a decsion based on that. So far, we think cord blood transplantation may be an option to go. The most recent report shows that 5 survived out of 7 for infant ALL with 11q23 translocation by cord blood transplantation. The sample size is very small, but that is all I have seen.
Keep in touch, please give your little angle a hug for us.

Thanks for coming to our website Sara and signing the guest book. Hooray for the good WBC count! She's a trooper. What protocol is Sydney on? Nathan is on the Infantile #99-137 through the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. It includes induction, consolidation, reinduction, potential for re-consolidation if randomized to get it, and maintenance. Just curious.
Take care and we'll continue to pray for Sydney's speedy recovery.

Well what can I do besides give you {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} I will pray for her speedy recovery of this minor set back. If only I could say there wouldnt be anymore days like this. To get to that wonderful cancer free zone again there are many ups and downs.. Of which balancing your schedule as your NP thought will be the least of your worries. You will get through this one.. Hi. My name is Becky Wright. My son's name is Nathan. Nathan was diagnosed at 5 1/2 months with ALL t: (4,11). He was born with a serious heart defect as well. He has shone's syndrome and wolfe parkinson white syndtome. (Shone's is a coarctation in the aorta, VSD, and valve issues among other things. WPW is an arrythmia.) He is a little over eight months into treatment. We have been on maintenance therapy for six weeks. (Small doses of chemotherapy.) He is projected to end treatment in July of 2004. He was diagnosed on July 19, 2002.
He is now 14 months old and totally full of life. He is learning to walk. He is a little behind because of all that has happened. We spent three months in the hospital. He was pretty sick during a lot of it. I won't elaborate because it would take up too much room. All in all, he has done very well.
We live in Manchester, NH and Nathan is treated at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA. They are fabulous.
Please feel free to email me anytime. I would love to talk to you.
Hugs,
Becky and Nathan
P.S. Sydney is beautiful! We will keep her in our daily thoughts and prayers. Take care!

Sarah, Troy and Sydney, I am SO glad to hear that Sydney gets to come home for a few days. God is certainly by your side in all this and is guiding each one of you through a tough time, but it will get better!! Just keep being strong and give that beautiful baby girl a hug and kiss from all of us. Caleigh and Corey enjoy looking at the pictures of Sydney on here and Corey likes to read the things people have wrote. Take care, and we are here for anything you may need, and I hope you get to take Sydney out for that walk, she will love it!! :) :)

Sarah, Troy and Sydney,

How wonderful to have your Sydney home! Im glad you can spend a few days home before being inpatient again. I remember those days, of always having to pack up for a couple weeks at a time. She is such a doll in her pictures. Enjoy the rest of your spring break with your family.

Hi Sarah. I just saw your post to the ALL-kids list and wanted to stop by and see how Sydney is doing. I am glad to hear you will be able to have a break from the hospital. It is always good to be home. My daughter Maria was diagnosed with ALL in October 2002. She is older than Sydney (6.. nearly 7!) but she too has pre-b ALL with the t(4;11) translocation. Her treatment is aggressive but she is doing okay and we are getting through it one day at a time - just like you will. Have a great week at home.

Hang in there! Even in this, God has a plan- it may take some time to see the fruits of that plan, but He knows what he's doing!! As we went through our tough time a few years back, God sent us a clear message again & again through this verse: Jeremiah 29:11- "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future." You are constantly in our prayers (even Jacob makes sure every night that "Baby Sydney" get lifted to Him).

Hi Sarah - I got this page through the ALL-Kids list. I'm so sorry to hear about your daughter's diagnosis, but glad that she is doing well right now. The rash is very common, and I'm sure you'll hear from other parents who have dealt with infant ALL. My daughter Melanie just turned 7, and was diagnosed with ALL last July. If you get a chance to join the ALL-Kids list you'll find it very helpful - and I know there are a few on there right now dealing with infant ALL. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers,

There are others on the list with infants that have ALL. I posted a message in the ALL kids site I emailed you about, I know someone, if not multiple people, will contact you. My son was 3 1/2 at diagnosis and finishes treatment this Septmber. I cant remember offhand anyone with an infant, but you WILL hear from someone, I promise you. Hugs & prayers,
