Hi guys!
Thanks for the update. I hope you are doing well. I know the story with RS and the battle with sickness. Can't even tell you how many times they kept Ash home from school because it was too cold or she was sick. She gets sick too easily, but that's the thing with Rett Syndrome. Other than that, I have finals tomorrow and had them earlier today as well. I'm hoping to go to bed soon but I wanted to spend a little time "catching up" on CB news. Hope to hear from you soon.

When I worked in Lifeskills I would learn signs to better communicate with them. I also learn signs because of working with children. Babies can learns signs before they can talk! Glad your back is getting better. We also know sign language and use it with our two year old too. Amber isn't able to sign anything but "more" and is now nodding "yes". I'm afraid she doesn't have enough use of her hands to learn any more. That is great you all are learning sign language. It can really come in handy when you want to sign something to your family and no one else knows what you're saying. I find myself signing "thank you" to the kids all the time to remind them to say it. Make your kids help you clean the house, even the youngest. We make it a family project all the time. It's the only way I can keep it semi-clean. Take Care.

I'm glad you're beginning to feel some relief from the back pain--it sounds like you've had such a rough time of things. I hope your surgery goes well and that you have someone to take good care of you once you are home. My husband had similar surgery and was immediately better because his nerve pain from his back was gone. Hope your recovery goes as well as his did. Also on a side note, shouldn't the school district have a nurse to provide the care your daughter needs while she is at school. I know it is easier in the immediate that you do things for her yourself, but the school will figure it all out and your daughter will love being there. Best of luck to your family.

We went and saw the Childhood Cancer Awarness tree last night in D.C. It was so beautiful. It was covered in gold ribbons. We saw Sammy's name a bunch of times just looking at eye level. God bless all of our children with Retts Syndrome. Our dauhgter Kennedy, age 3,was diagnosed this year on January 22nd. Since then our life has not been the same. She, like you daughter, always smiles and has brought great joy to our family and friends. This year we hope to mobolize our efforts and have the first of many fund raisers here in Pittsburgh for IRSA funding for research - Circle of Angels.

What a nice website. I think I will do one for my daughter who also has Rett Syndrome.
