Welcome to Ben's page. It has been created to keep our family and friends up to date. Ben was diagnosed with albinism in October, 2002. We later learned his biggest challenge would be a cerebellar astrocytoma, a small brain tumor, diagnosed in May, 2003.
Ben is currently doing well. He has had no surgery or treatment. He gets an MRI every three months and so far, the tumor remains stable. At the point when it starts to grow, it will have to be removed.

Journal
Monday, March 30, 2009 It's been a year since I last updated. Ben is doing well. He is a very active first grader and loves being outside. He hasn't had an MRI in 1-1/2 years, and everything has been stable for a long time. He likes to say he has "the good kind of brain tumor."
He is always up to his SuperFly antics and has had a few more stitches, bumps and bruises along the way, but without that, he wouldn't be Ben. He is quite a unique young man.
