Auggie's Page

HAPPY 2008
Auggie is a precocious 7 year old who was diagnosed with Congenital Scoliosis at age 8 months and Neuroblastoma Stage 2A when he was 6 months old. We decided to create this page for his friends and family to learn about his progress and wonderful personality. Auggie has had 2 surgeries to remove his primary tumor and still it persists. Auggie is now being treated on CCG Protocol A3961 and we are hoping that this will help to shrink the tumor into "nothingness". Auggie has completed the chemotherapy and he has finished Retin A/Accutane due to the depression, mood swings, and death thoughts. He has improved a great deal since we stopped it.

Just a quick note to say we are wishing for sun and that all is well here in Salt Lake - Auggie is doing really well. We have been very busy and will be getting busier. Our St. Baldrick's event is going to be on April 11, 2008 and we are looking forward to it. Auggie's scans came back normal in October so he is to go back in April for his 6 month follow up.

Auggie has also decided to be part of the Science Fair at his school and his project is: How much pressure/weight/pounds does it take to break a bone? Needless to say we are going to find out a lot about bones. He is excited to know the answer as is his teacher.

Christmas and New Year's were quiet and too short. Auggie received some really great gifts and I am very slow in sending thank you's to everyone. I just find I have no time to sit with him and 'do' them. I am doing so many other things.
