Happy 8th Birthday, Peyton. You and I share a birthday...that's pretty special-only I am really old-LOL. You and my daughter, Alexa, also share something the fact that you both had CCSK and that you both "FIRED" it (as she likes to say). We just got our latest scans back and they found some scary things, so I am asking for your strength in prayer to help keep this cancer 'fired forever'. Thanks, Peyton. You rock! Hello, Peyton! Your grandmother was nice enough to visit our daughter Alexa's caringbridge page. Alexa was diagnosed with CCSK in June. Like you, she is a very special girl. We were so happy to learn that you are in remission! You go, girl! You are a SURVIVOR (love the banner by the way...I saw it on another site). We will pray for your continued health and clear scans! Please keep Alexa in your prayers as we are at the beginning stages of this battle. We await the day when she can join you in remission! Keep smiling....you are beautiful! Hi, your grandma was nice enough to visit our site. Our three year old daughter, Alexa, was diagnosed with CCSK on June 15th. We know all too well how rare this disease is and since the ratio is 2:1 boys to girls...you & Alexa are even more special. I am so glad to hear that you are doing so well. That is wonderful news! No doubt you are a SURVIVOR (love your banner by the way...I saw it on another site)! I look forward to the day that we can say Alexa has joined you in remission. Keep up the great work and know that our family will be praying for your continued health. If you can pray for Alexa too, we'd really appreciate it! God Bless you & your family! Belated Happy, Happy Birthday!

I am a friend of your Mom's. I saw her at Wal-Mart the other night (one of my favorite places) and she gave me an update on how you were doing. Anyway, it sounds like you are doing great. You are a brave young lady and an inspiration to us all. It is so exciting to know you are doing so well. From the pictures of your party, it looked like you were having a great time even in the heat! I hope to get to meet you soon - the last time I saw you, you were just a tiny baby.....you have changed quite a bit - you have grown into a beautiful young lady.
Your sister was with your Mom at Wal-Mart. The last time I saw her, she was about your age! I could not believe she was already a teenager! Yes, your Mom and Dad do make pretty babies...they just grow up too fast!
I had lost your website address but now that I found it again, maybe we can be pen pals once in awhile.

Peyton, you looked BEAUTIFUL at the fashion show!!! It's truly a wonderful event -- very poignant & joyous at the same time. Marni, if you'd like to help in the future, let me know (our family was very involved with this year's show).

So good to see you all there!

I read your entry from Grant Haar's website. Our daughter, Gracin, was diagnosed with CCSK in September 2005, finished chemo last month and had her port removed today. She is 21 months old. Her website is www.caringbridge.com/visit/gracinkerry

I loved your 'The Strength of an Egg' that you sent Stephanie Haar and she subsequently sent me. It was and is so amazingly still true. I posted it on her website. Thank you for sharing, we too will treasure it.

Best wishes to you all in this continued journey.

Hi Peyton and Marni!!

Thank you for signing my guestbook for our son Grant (www.caringbridge.org/visit/granthaar). I have looked at your site several times (from Andy's page) and I think I even tried to sign once before.

I was stunned to read your entry today. I have a sign next to my bed that reads "Sometimes the Lord calms the storm. Sometimes He lets the storm rage and calms his child." I took it with us for the big surgery, for our one hospitalization and I read it every morning before getting out of bed. It made my heart skip a beat to see it means something to your family too. I would love to hear more about all of you. E-mail anytime!!

This message is for Courtney's family and friends. I read about Courtney's passing from Elisha's site. I never met Courtney; however, I did meet her family and friends. It was in late June when she had her surgery, but the doctor sewed her back up.

Her siblings and friends were in the play room. They were so sweet to me and my little boy, Gavin (and his sister Amanda). Gavin has ALL. We had been in the hospital for several weeks. They entertained Gavin by pushing him around the 10th floor on a big wheel. Thank you so much for your kindness. I felt so sad for the family.
I just wanted to say that you all touched my heart.

I have been going through a bunch of stuff from when Weston was in the hospital and thinking of all the fun you and Weston had together that year even though you were both so sick. I have also been thinking about some of the conversations that I had with your mommy that year and since then. Your mommy has helped me to grow into a more mature person. One who is taking the time to stop and think about what God wants me to do and how he wants me to react to situations. To stop thinking of myself and what I want and to rely on Him. I saw this poem on another site today, and thought it very appropriate for the situation our extended family experiences daily. We will always remember the birds who have "feathered" your nest, Marni and Dane, while loving beyond belief the two 'birds' still thriving there.

Love, Mom (Granny & MEMIL)

WAIT
By Russell Kelfer

Desperately, helplessly, longingly, I cried;
Quietly, patiently, lovingly, God replied.

I pled and I wept for a cure to my fate....
and the Master so gently said, "Wait".

"Wait? you say wait?"
my indignant reply.
"Lord, I need answers,
I need to know why!"
"Is Your hand shortened?
Or have You not heard?
By faith I have asked, and
I'm claiming Your Word.

My future and all to which I relate
hangs in the balance,
and you tell me to Wait?"

"I'm needing a 'yes'
a go-ahead sign.
Or even a 'no'
to which I'll resign.

You promised, dear Lord,
that if we believe,
we need but to ask,
and we shall receive.

Lord, I've been asking,
and this is my cry:
I'm weary of asking!
I NEED A REPLY."

Then quietly, softly, I learned of my fate,
as my Master replied again, "Wait".
So I slumped in my chair, defeated and taut,
and grumbled to God,
"So, I'm waiting...for what"?

He seemed then to kneel, and His eyes
met with mine...and He tenderly said
"I could give you a sign.
I could shake the heavens
and darken the sun. I could raise the dead
and cause mountains to run.

I could give all you seek
and pleased you would be.
You'd have what you want,
but you wouldn't know Me.

You'd not know
that power that I give
to the faint.

You'd not learn to see
through clouds of despair;
you'd not learn to trust
just by knowing I'm there.

You'd not know the joy
of resting in Me
when darkness and silence
are all you can see.

You'd never experience
the fullness of love
when the peace of My spirit
descends like a dove.

You would know that I give,
and I save, for a start,
But you'd not know the depth
of the beat of My heart.

The glow of My comfort
late into the night,
the faith that I give
when you walk without sight.

The depth that's beyond
getting just what you ask
from an infinite God who
makes what you have last.

You'd never know should
your pain quickly flee,
what it means that My grace
is sufficient for thee.

Yes, your dearest dreams
overnight would come true,
but, oh, the loss, if you missed
what I'm doing in you.

So, be silent, my child,
and in time you will see
that the greatest of gifts
is to
truely
know
Me.

And though oft My answers
seem terribly late,
My most precious answer of all is still....
"WAIT".

Marni,
I knew approximately 12 years ago when I met you that you were a special person. I don't know if I ever told you that it was your friendship that got me through many of the trials of working at "that" daycare. I will never forget Dane coming in with Lindsay in tears, a bow and rubber band in one had and a brush in the other...Dane would always ask for me to fix her hair. I usually laughed (after he left). I never realized what a strength you both had and continue to have. I have been blessed that I have been able to keep up with you guys through caringbridge and for that I am thankful. Your continued faith and understanding of God's word and works is AMAZING. Through your understanding comes a movement for me to get closer to Him. Thanks for doing all you do and sharing with all of us. Love you guys more than words can say.

love,
Anna

Marni,

I have never met anyone like you. There is something about you that is so comforting and calming. I mean this sincerely, I am so happy to have you in my life. I have also totally fallen in love with Peyton. Your whole family is just GOOD. Sorry for gushing, but that is how I feel.

Other than the day Griffin toured DPD, the biggest memory I have of him is when I walked into his hospital room. Monique was sitting next to Griffin's bed. He was sprawled out with his feet at the head of the bed. He was wearing the camouflage pajamas. I thought, now that is all boy. I will never forget that image. I only saw Griffin three times, two of those times were in the hospital. That sweet child will forever be in my heart.

I only saw Courtney twice. The day at the PD and at Griffin's service. It is very hard to describe what it was about her, but only being around her twice, I could tell she was very special. It was easy to see the strong bond you and she had by just the way ya'll looked at each other. It was also easy to see how much both Griffin and Peyton adored her, also just by the way they looked at each other.

Again, thank you for letting me be a part of your lives.

Karen McNamara <dpd5248@yahoo.com>
Irving, TX - Saturday, December 3, 2005 5:24 PM CST
Marni, I can't even begin to describe what you have done for me. This last year of knowing you personally has really changed my life in a way I will always be greatful for. I sit here with tears flowing as I remember Courtney. I find myself looking at things that remind me of Courtney each day. The smallest things remind me of her, like the shirt I wore today was the shirt I was wearing the last time I saw her. I look at the last pictures taken of us together and can't help but think of how much she is enjoying heaven now, and I find myself pulling up old emails and conversations I had with her that I have saved just to remember all of the sweet things she said to me. She will forever be in my heart and I am thankful for the few times I got to spend with her.

I love you all so much, and want to see you soon.

I check the website often to get an update on Peyton and I marvel at the gift you've been given, Marnie. Your entries are eloquent - the evidence of your faith and beliefs is overwhelming. The one I just read brought tears. All of Peyton's buddies and their families are so lucky to have you and Dane and your unwavering faith. God is doing GREAT things with you!

I continue to both marvel and feel humbled when I read your journal entries at the love, compassion, and insight you are so beautiful at expressing regarding your love for God and the precious lives that have touched your heart, and as a result, ours as well. For someone so young as yourself, you teach me and put me back on track each time I read what you write. God bless you and yours this Holy Season and remember what blessed and wonderful things God has in store for you. Much love.

Marni, I also asked those same questions and I am (little) more comforted by your answers. Elisha and I have been here on the 11th floor ICU everyday since then and my thoughts and feelings have gone places I never thought they would go. I am not sure that makes any since but I somehow feel that you know what I am talking about. Marni you are so strong and you will NEVER know how much strength I have drawn from yours in these last 2yrs. I know and believe that I faith but when I read your UPDATES my faith and understanding of things seem so small. This year has been the hardest year of my entire life and just seems to get harder. I believe that my understanding and faith grow each time you refuse to give into to dispair and unbelief. GOD is using YOU and COURTNEY'S life in ways I am possitive you will never truly know until we all meet in HEAVEN!! I just want you to know that I love you and your family so much! Thank you for being the WOMAN OF GOD THAT YOU ARE!!
Much love,

Marni, I am not sure what to even say to you, Peyton, Lindsey and Dane that could possibly bring any comfort, but I am thankful that you were able to be with Courtney as she passed on to another, more beautiful world. Marni, you have been a special person from the time that you were young babysitting my girls. It is inspiring to see what a tower of strength you have become for so many people-many that you have never even met. But remember the words from my favorite Christmas song, "O come all ye faithful", those words have to have been written for Courtney and so she went, and will have the most glorious Christmas we could even imagine. Love and peace to you and your family.

I can't tell you how sorry I am to hear that such a beautiful and wonderful young woman has left this world. I can already see by the guestbook that she will be greatly missed. She is with her Savior now though and I don't think she could ask to be in a better and safer place. One in which there won't be any more chemo, or pain or sick feeling. I always admire her strength and still do. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I truly wish I could be there for her funeral but I won't be able to be home for the holidays until Thursday. I just heard about Courtney's passing. I am so sorry that this world has lost another AMAZING person. I met Courtney at Griffy's service at the PD. I am sure this is especially hard on dear Peyton. Peyton can continue Courtney's life by living all the things Court taught her about strength of character, perserverence, grace, and undying love. Court truly loves these kids!! It was evident in her eyes and smile.

I know the upcoming weeks will be tough as you enter into the anniversary of Griffin's hospice. To us, that was actually worse than the anniversary of Justin's angel date. Marni,
Yesterday's church service was really something! We're in a series called "The Choice", basically saying your life and your happiness are your choice. In yesterday's sermon our choice was patience. Being patient with God while everything seems so out of reach and distant. Whether it be sitting in traffic, waiting for the end of the semester, or fighting cancer, be patient. I know you're strong in your faith but for me it hasn't been so easy. Pastor David said, "Don't judge God in the middle of a tragedy, wait until the end. The outcome. God works in the outcome of situations." So when Courtney's cancer is gone God will work even more wonders than He already has. Trust me, I know how hard it is to be patient and to just want to hear the words, "clear scans" and "remission". Just saying, "AREN'T WE DONE YET?????" I haven't been waiting nearly as long as Courtney so I give all of ya'll the credit you deserve. Be patient. The Choice...Patience.

Hi Courtney, you don't know me but I found your pages on the caringbridge web site. The reason I was looking is because my grandson Christian was diagnosed this year with CCSK. He was only 18 months at the time and has just undergone 8 months of chemo. So far so good. It is difficult to find positive information and Peyton and her family give me hope. I will tell my son and daughter-in-law about your wonderful story and I thank you so much for taking the time to write the pages. I won't write more just now but my love and best wishes go to you and your family, you are an inspiration. June Arthur (from Dorset in the UK)

Happy 20th Birthday Courtney!!

You may or may not remember me, but this is Amber-- one of the nurses that took care of you at Children's in 2002.

I have recently been keeping up-to-date about your situation, and praying for you often.

I remember you being such a strong woman with a stunning smile and a great family. It seems from seeing your pictures and hearing more stories that none of that has changed.

Hang in there, girl, and keep that amazing faith that you have in our LORD going strong.

With Love and Blessings,

It's still funny to me that your birthday is so close to Halloween.. I guess I say that because I will never forget how badly me and Brit used to scare you and Paige through pretty much the entire month of October. Man those were good times! I have watched you grow from a little girl into the beautiful young women that you now are. And I can't even begin to tell you how proud I am of you. Courtney you are an amazing person... I am privleged to have you as my "little sister". I hope you have a wonderful birthday! I'll hopefully be there in a couple of week to give you your b-day spankings. I miss & love you very much! Hey Court-- it's Mandy. Just wanted to let you know some of the things you are... not just to me but I'm sure to many. Get out your dictionary- it's kind of wordy- no pun intended. (This is not a test:))
You are strong. You are vigorous. You raise me up. You raise a lot of people up. You provide a lot of people and me with stength and hardiness to accomplish anything we want without ill will or complaints. You make me laugh. You make me and grown men cry (in a good way because you are amazing). You are caring, encouraging, purseverant, tender and gentle. You are stunningly beautiful. You are honorable in so may ways and admiriable in more. You are merciful, understanding and forgiving. You are tenacious. You are joy and spread that joy to everyone around you. You are funny and witty and keep us all on our toes- that's for sure. You are mighty with the mighty Man's assistance. You are capable and able. Thank the Lord that you are stubborn and extremely hard-headed :)!!! You are passionate, loving, assisting, inspiring, wistful, spirited and 100% refreshening. You are obsequious (compliant) and infrequently pusillanimous,(cowardly/timid- those complex words are my two new favorites!- I cheated and gave you the def.) You are soothing and calming in an unusual way that doesn't really have a word- or at least one that I could come up with. You are super-human with the feats you have overcome. He is all of these things. In your 20 years, you've become more of a person than I will ever be. I love you so much and surly hope that your birthday is one you can enjoy and sit and realize just how cool of a chic you really are. Like that Jim Carrie move- the God one- if you had a Post-It note for all the prayers you recieve, poor Brit would be digging you out about every 5 minutes or so- and you know her patience is about the size of your pinky nail so I guess it's good that God can handle it paperless. :) Please be at peace. That is what I wish for you on your birthday. I love you and miss you.

Biggest smiles and a warm hug,

Mandy <Amnizuk@yahoo.com>

Hi Marni and Family! I haven't talked to ya'll in what seems like forever, but I think of ya'll often. Glad all is well and glad Courtney is doing some better.
Courtney: I am so glad I have gotten to know you. Such a big blessing in my life. You really amaze me by how tough of a fighter you are. Some of my best memories of us together are going to church on that Sunday morning in Feb. and then going out to lunch, and that day in the first part of August when we came up and we all went bowling, and out to eat, and then went back to Marni's. We have had so much fun together. I really hope you get to feeling better soon. Happy 20th Birthday, Courtney. I love you!

Court:
I want to start off by saying God is moving in your life and your faith is incredibly strong. Keep believing in Him and what He has promised, and you will see what you have been waiting for.
You know I have to say that my favorite memory of you is you, Paige, Dane, Lindsey, and Peyton (all of you except Peyton) were in the street playing football. I remember several cars driving down the street as usually and you all would get out of the way but then there was this one car that was flying down the street and everyone ran to get out of the street but you. Marni and I were like Courtney move and the little smerk on your face was like they'll stop. We laughed and laughed for a ong time and its situations like that, that make you what you are and make you so tough. Court- keep your faith and continue to pray as I know you have, and throught Christ this will be beaten. You may not look so great right know on the outside but God's not worried about the outside he is inside doing what he does best. Happy 20th Birthday next week and I love you. Cassidy has colored you so many pictures and I will be mailing them soon. Cassidy is telling me to tell you hi and she loves you too.

Hey Guys...It sure was good to get a new update. I am so glad that things are on the upswing Ms. Courtney. I have been keeping track of Peyton (used to be Lindsay's Day care teacher....many moons ago) due to loving the White's as much as I do. In the process I have had the oppurtunity to get to "know" you thru the updates and pictures. I have been and will continue to pray for your total healing. Knowing that God never falls short of his promises I will sing praises when you are totally healed and will continue to sing them as your true healing begins. Keep your chin up and have a WONDERFULLY BLESSED BIRTHDAY!!

Love in Christ,
Anna

Courtney. I can't believe you're going to be 20. So young but so old. Ew! Don't worry, I know your birthday is the 25th so I'll contact you again then.

Wow. I've known you 10 months now. Who would've thought and aggie and a longhorn would survive this long. I think my closest memories are uncountable number of hours on the phone with you that week in February when we talked, cried, or just sat there on the phone. I felt so close to you. I didn't get more than 5-10 hours of sleep that week, but I don't regret one second of it. I love you so much. Hmm...driving to Dallas with Beth. Leaving at 3 am just to see you and go to church with you. I remember talking about CureSearch over lunch. I asked where I could get a bracelet and you just gave me yours saying you could get another one. But I think what I love the most about you is that you're not afraid to show that you're human. And you know, I hope you know, I know you know, that I love you tons of yellow roses. I'm running WITH you, I'm not watching.

Once again you're distracting me from school as my ITSC professor types away on the projector. I should be listening but I'm typing to you.

See you SOON!!!! I hope you like your quilt...

My daughter, Kennedy Smith, goes to Children's for treatment. We have met each other several times in the waiting room particularly when you, Marni, were with Courtney and her mom. I met Courtney's sister and mother at one of our many visits to Children's Medical Center... My daughter was in ICU and they were getting ready to leave and we met briefly on the elevator.... She told me some about Courtney and Peyton... I have visited this site many many times to keep up with both of them but have never signed the guestbook... I want you to know that they are both in my prayers and I'm believing in that promise GOD made to you both and am waiting and praying until that time comes... All things happen in GOD's time.... Glad to see the update. I bet you are excited about school Peyton. The backpack and lunchbox sound just perfect for a kindergarten student. And what great news about the scans!

I'm also glad to hear that Courtney seems to be doing well and even felt good enough to play basketball. Way to go, Courtney!

Enjoy the rest of your summer. School will be here before you know it.

Happy Birthday Peyton!! 5 is a fabulous age and I know you'll love every minute of it!

I'm excited to see God's miracles in Courtney's life. Isn't it a wonderful place to be, knowing that He is in complete control! Although not as dramatic as you're about to experience, we recently had one of those "I told you I'd take care of you" moments when the doctors confirmed our faith that our 6 year old does NOT have JRA! It's a wonderful place to be in the presence of the Lord!

You all are in my prayers.

Hello Sweet Peyton,

Wanted to let you know I am thinking of you and Courtney, as I do every day. 5 is a cool age to be!

Marni, WOW, what an entry. I have faith, but it isn't near as strong as yours and Courtney's. I do want to believe that Courtney will be cured here. Even though I only saw Griffin three times, the day of his tour and at the hospital, I miss that little guy and cry often over his loss. The kids are extraordinary!

Love to you all.

Hello Peyton and family, I woke up about 5AM this morning and had a sudden realization that I needed to know how you were all doing. Dionne told me that a different treatment had been found for Courtney and she would not be coming to San Antonio. That was good news. I see the pictures and think what a changed little girl you have come to be. You are growing and just look at all of that hair. I will be working at VBS again this year and am looking forward to seeing all of you. Marni you are so very right...God is good!

Wow! That was emotional reading. It is hard to know what just to say to convey how much I care about all of you. You are all an awsome group of people. Busy and active too. The news is totally wonderful about Peyton and Courtney. Happy Birthday Lindsay.

I know there is nothing to say that will help with your grief over Griffin. He seemed like a remarkable child, I would give anything to have gotten the chance to know him better. You all are so blessed to have had him in your lives. I truly believe our littlest police officer is watching after us all.

Kathleen wants to tell Peyton hello and wants to know if she has gotten to ride in any more limos. I told her about the big pink playhouse and she thought that was totally cool. Hopefully someday soon we can get our little princesses together.

Oh my gosh! This is too funny! Leave it to you guys to make us all laugh!! I agree with all the votes for Marni to update the page. I don't think Courtney should have her own because it just does not seem natural. She is practically part of the White family! Marnie you write well also and I enjoy your humor. Weeeelllllllll-
Here's the thing, that's a tough decision to make. We DO need to know what's going on with Peyton, you know, like softball, and all of the other stuff she has going on. BUT...it's your fault Marni, you got us addicted to Courtney too, so you are just going to have to do a mega update, and give us the scoop on both! I'm talkin a a HUGE super long update that tells us EVERYTHING!!! Don't hold anything back!!! Hope you all are having a great week, talk to you soon!

I think that since Marni intoduced Courtney to us all via Peyton's site, that it only be fitting if......COURTNEY does the next update.

My vote is for an update from you on Peyton and for Courtney to create her own page to update. Then I could just add her to my list of kids I check on everyday. Hope all is going well for both Peyton and Courtney.

Decisions, decisions!! Now you are putting the pressure on! I think Courtney should give us an update on herself, her plans for the summer etc. and Marni update on Peyton! When are her next scans? Are you going to camp? Suzy is going to pre-teen camp and I am so jealous! Remember the sweat and sunscreen and bugs? I am going to go one night for praise and worship, can't wait! Brittany is excited about being a big 6th grader. And yes, I do visit this website a few times a week and the postings have been lack! (couldn't resist Marni) We love you guys!

Well, as much as I would truly love to know more about Courtney, I do think, Miss Marni, that you should update Peyton's page! I have been diligently checking it day after day hoping to see what is going on in your lives - and nothing!!! lol Anyway, you get the next one but somehow it would be great to learn more about Courtney. I know you mom must be counting down the days until school is over. Haley misses her a lot and can really see how much she taught her last year, especially now that she is in college. Love to all...

Hello Peyton, Marni and Courtney
I love all of you guys. You don't know it but I pull up this web page at least twice a week looking for an updated posting. I am usally not one to write in the guestbook but you all are always in my thoughts and prayers. So please, someone give me an update!!!!! I was going to vote for Courtney until I saw Courtney's note that it might not ever get done if she wins the vote so now I don't know who to cast my vote for. I love all of you and will always continue to pray for you and all of your friends!!!

Hi Peyton! I am not sure that I just cast my vote for which of you should update this page. You know Peyton belongs to Marni but Courtney is Peyton's favorite person. I really think that you should split the job since you are both so busy. HEHEHEHEHEHE.... But I think in the end I will vote for Dane....Since he is the responsible one of the bunch....HEHEHEHEHE Love ya girls. Peyton we miss you. Love Sherrie and Weston

Hello Peyton, You look so cute in your purple outfit. I just wanted to say hello and let you know that I was thinking about you. Your picture is on my desk.
Marni, you go girl. Tell those politicians how the cow eats the cabbage!!! You are very correct about how things get funded. The only time you ever hear about funding for kids illness is through St. Judes or Muscular Dystrophy Telethon. I have talked to many people about Peyton and evrything that she has gone through as well as your family. They usually gasp when they hear that a child has cancer. My comment is always "Cancer knows no age". For all you do, I know that God is walking with your every step!

Well, it's official, the motto for Marni White is now "YOU GO GIRL!" I think we could all take lessons from you on getting the initative to actually get up and do something. I know I for one am truly blessed to have you in my life, and you are such an inspiration to all of us. We're ordering our green bracelets soon. Thank you for keeping us all informed and aware of the many outlets pertaining to childhood cancer awareness. Too bad it took something like this to get us on the ball. Give hugs to Peyton and the gang, and we'll talk to you soon!

Hi sweet Peyton, I am so glad you are still enjoying school. I think about you all the time and can't wait to get to see you again. I understand about getting your sandwich just right, Kathleen is very particular about hers too.

Marni,
Before I signed on to the GB, I was also thinking the exact words "You go girl" too. You and Dane inspire me to finally stop talking about doing something and finally doing it. I promise if you ever need help in anything, I am more than ready to do anything for you. It makes me feel good too when people ask about the green bracelet I am wearing. If Kathleen is with me and someone asks about it, she tells them about childhood cancer. When we say our prayers, we always say a special one for all the special kids. I miss Griffin so much. God Bless You, I Love You.

Marni, I so enjoyed your journal today. I just want to say "You go girl!". Tim and Donna are wonderful people and I'm so glad that you have connected with them. My nephew was very good friends with their son, Adam. Before Adam died, I was so "clueless" about childhood cancer. Now, it makes me mad. You will be in my prayers in all that you do.

p.s. glad to hear that you are getting better at Peyton's sandwiches. My daughter is picky, too. When I make grilled cheese, I have to cut the crust off, and I have to cut it diagonal!

Hi, You guys may not know who I am. I saw you guys several times at the hospital with my son Joey. I visit the sites of Peyton, Griffin, Weston, and some of the other children from the hospital pretty often. Joey passed away on Dec. 14. He had neuroblastoma like Griffin. He was 3. I really just wanted to let you know you are in my prayers daily. Peyton is truly a special little girl, and such an inspiration. Love you guys, Christi

Peyton and Family,
I have not written in a while because I knew things were on the up side now and was rejoicing in that. I saw your post on Kyleigh's site and thought how sad of me to stop writing to let you know that I was thinking of you all. I know that I have seen you a lot more over the holidays, but that is no excuse. I am back and do want to keep in touch better. No New Year's resolution just a promise.
Many of my Girl Scouts that wrote to Peyton earlier this year have now gone on but there are still a couple there that remember and I will be showing them the new picture next week when I am with them. Even though I have been remiss in writing, you have still been in my prayers.

Hello Peyton and family!

I'm so saddend by the loss of your buddy Griffin. My head keeps saying he is home now and pain free, but my heart still says he should be here playing with Blake, Peyton, Weston & Logan and wearing that mischevious grin.

What a special family you are to lift up your friends during their time of need. If each of us in this world were so blessed with such friends. Thank you for being such an amazing example to us all.

Pey, hope you are feeling healthy and giving Lindsey a hard time - its your job as her lil sis :-).

Marni & Dane - Thanks for sharing your travels along this journey with us and for always reminding us that God has brought you to new heights along the way.

Sending you hugs, love and lots of prayers.

Hello Peyton and Family,

What a breath of fresh air you are amidst all the sadness. I'm so very sorry to hear about Griffy. I really love the picture of Griffy with Peyton, what radiant friends! And what incredibly wonderful things you've done for him, Marni and Courtney. You helped Griffin pack for his most exciting trip ever--Forever in Paradise! We will pray for his family along with the countless families who have lost loved ones this year to feel His kind and loving Hand of Peace. We pray for you all often even if we havent been by in awhile. We pray that the spirit of Christmas and His Amazing Love continues to *Shine Brightly* through you all!

Lots of peace and blessings to you all for 2005 and beyond, Grace and Katey

Dear Peyton, Marni, and All,

I love the picture on the homepage of Peyton and Griffin. He was a child I did not know, but I found his webpage earlier today through Cheyenne Fiveash's journal. After visiting his site, I would know that cute little face anywhere!

Griffin's mother wrote about a friend named Marni coming to read from the Bible and talk with Griffin about Heaven. Now, I realize that you are that Marni. God bless you for all you did for Griffin and for his loved ones! And, of course, God bless Griffin!

May 2005 be a rich year full of God's blessings and joy for Peyton and all of her loved ones!

Grace and peace,

Just as my heart breaks for Griffin's family, it breaks for your family as well, knowing how close of friends you all are/were. I read on Griffin's site that he asked Marni to be with him and read to him from the Bible at the end - what a privelege. I pray that God will wrap his arms around Griffin's family and everyone who mourns the loss of Griffin.

I loved reading your journal entry today for two reasons. The first reason is that Luke 2:11 is the memory verse that my kids are suppose to memorize this month for church and when I opened your page, that was the first thing that I saw.

The second reason is that the story you related is so powerful. I believe that God talks to all of us more than we realize, but we, as adults, are not always open to hearing God. Children are. I got goose bumps reading the story. I pray that Henry will continue to communicate with Peyton and that Courtney will be healed completely of her cancer.

May God continue to bless your family.

Hi Partner,

Thank you for making my Christmas soooo special. It was wonderful getting to see you, your mom and dad, meeting Griffin, his dad, Courtney and her grandmother. I have never had so much fun! Hope you all had a great time too. I love you all very much. I hope everyone has the best Christmas ever. Now that you are my partner Peyton, that means it is OK to come to the Academy anytime and help me work. (Of course, you have always been welcomed to come any time). It would be great if Griffin and Courtney can come back too sometime. I wish words could convey the feelings I feel inside, they are incredible. I really feel blessed to have been a part of yesterday. Kathleen said to tell you hi. She just can't wait until tomorrow morning. Santa Claus sent her a letter saying she was on the good list, along with all of her friends, so I know that means that you are on the good list too.

Love to you all,

Marni,
Your journal entry is so powerful, and puts so eloquently into words what I have been struggling to get across for what seems like so long now. I hope you won't mind, but I'm asking friends and family to read it. I'm hoping your words may be able to reach some people that I have failed to.

Thank you so much! Much love to you all!

This is not so much about Peyton as it is about Marni. Sweetheart, I just wanted to tell you how proud I am of you, and how grateful I am that you are Peyton and Lindsay's mom. You have taken the worst possible event in our lives and have turned it into something amazingly positive. With everything that you and Dane have to contend with every day, you have found time to bring all of us the one thing that seems to be missing in all our lives--hope. When I watch you with Pey, or see you with one of our other kids from our new extended families, I marvel at your strength. So many times I get so afraid, and then I talk to you, and you fill me with hope, not just for the kids we have come to love, but for all mankind. You make me believe that the day will come when we will beat this terrible disease. You give me the strength to want to join the fight. Thank you for being this amazing tower of strength, thank you for never giving up when it would be so easy to do so, thank you for bringing Weston, Logan, Griffin, and Courtney physically into our lives, and so many other brave fighters into our hearts. Thank you for having the courage of your convictions, thank you for loving the girls, thank you for being a wonderful sister, wife, mother, and thank you most of all for making me the proudest mom in the world. I love you sweetheart--Mom

Peyton,
I am a friend of Courtneys and I just want to say that I think you are a very brave girl. I admire you so much. I only wish that I could have your bravery, ambition, and strenght. People like you give me a reason to smile and thank the Lord. My grandpa also battled Cancer and although he didn't die from it something else evil did take him from me just a few months ago. I love your story and Courtneys also. I will always Pray for as I do for " OUR COURTNEY" she is a remarkable women and you will grow up to be just like her I am sure. Good Luck in life and you and courtney as well as all the other child and adults who battle cancer are my inspiration and hero's. I LOVE YOU ALL.

Marni,
It was like you were reading my mind. I have been wanting to get in touch with you and ask what we could do to help with the fight against the beast. (besides giving blood, signing up on bone marrow list, giving monetary donation for research) Or how we can help the children and families that are battling this. I know I am not the only one wondering what to do that will truly be helpful. Please give Kathleen's and my love to Peyton. Kathleen loved the new pictures of Peyton and asks about her often.

You are so right in saying that this has been a very hard week in Caringbridge land. We are so happy for those kids who are sitting at the throne of Christ, yet heartbroken for their parents. This is such a horrible horrible thing for anybody to have to go through, yet because we know it is in His hands, it makes it a little more bearable. We are so thankful that God has place you all in our lives, and we love all of you so very much. Thanks so much for being such a fantastic support system, and we REALLY need to get together soon!

What a great update!!! The only problem is you didn't warn us readers to get out the kleenex before reading. Disney is a magical place, but it sounds like it was even more magical for you with the characters treating Peyton like they did. The characters and employees are so good about that (I even got special treatment when I was there because I had a birthday button on). I'm so glad that you had such a wonderful time and got lots of pictures and video tape. I know after Disney, Halloween can't compare, but I hope you have a great Halloween!

Hey Peyton and family! I saw on the WOKC site that you donated in Stephen's name. Thank you so much! Now I guess we are joined together in TWO ways! The first and most unpleasant being that nasty old "C" word..the second way is that we are working together to raise money to FIGHT that nasty old "C" word! Thanks again and I am so happy to read how well things are going for you! God is Good!!!

I loved your entry today. First of all, it is great news to hear that you are getting back to some sort of "normal" and have more freedom. And, I totally agree with you about being silly with your kids! They learn how to enjoy life. So, you just keep on toilet papering houses (glad I don't live in your neighborhood!).

Hey There sweetheart I am sorry that it has taken us so very long to get around and visit.. I promise that we have not forgotten about you, as a matter of fact we think about you all the time. It is just that things around here have been really hecktic lately with Dillion being sick and in the hospital which is really keeping me busy, which means that unfortunatly I am finding less and less time for the computer.
So how have you been doing lately?? I hope that you have been doing wonderful, and having lots of fun doing some kids stuff. I am so happy to hear that your last scans were clear, and I wanted to let you know that you will be in our thoughts and prayers all day for the scans that you are having today.. Well sweetheart I hope that you have a wonderful day, and that you have a really great week. You are always in our thoughts and prayers, and we are sending you lots of love, hugs, prayers, happy thoughts and good wishes..

Hi, Peyton. Prayers are answered. I was so glad to read the latest update about you. Praise the Lord. I think Shannon told you that we are doing a calendar with pictures of 2004 Relay for Life. We want your picture on the front page. I will look through your photos on this website and pick one to use or your mom can get a picture to Shannon. I really would like one of you at the Relay. You were so brave and courageous to be there. I pray that God continues to bless you and your family. In God's Love, Joy Price

I found Peyton's page through Cheyenne's page. I have been praying for Cheyenne for several weeks, learning about her through Connor Hunley's page. (I have prayed for him for about a year.)

Peyton is cute as a button, and I hope she will be totally healed of cancer!

God bless you both and all of your loved ones!
