Goodness!! Over a year has passed since my last update...sorry!! No news is good news though, right? LOL. Well, a lot has happened since our last update...here goes!! Relay for life 2010 was awesome!! Maycie's cousins and grandfather from Bishop came up for it, her grandma from Nederland, her big sister from Corpus and her auntie Moe, Nana and Papa from Colorado also came. It was so nice to be able to finally celebrate Relay with family! Don't get me wrong, we LOVE LOVE LOVE that our friends come out and support us every year, they're the ones who TRULY make Relay what it is to us, but it was nice after so many years to be able to have our family there with us as well. The theme for our campsite was "Maycie's super survivor sleepover", "Fighting cancer with more than just a pillow". Our campsite won an award for Best Cancer Theme Outstanding Campsite"!! WooHoo!! The kids all got to go to Camp Quality that summer as well! That meant a nice week long vacation(just me and the hubby)in the Hill Country. Our first vacation together in 10 years. We floated the river, did some shopping at the outlet malls, went dancing at Gruene Hall, visited the Dr. Pepper museum...and so much more! Thank you Camp Quality for taking such great care of our kiddos so that we didn't have to worry about them all week :-). The kids all had a great school year. Maycie did very well on her TAKS tests, we are so proud of her!! We did have a couple of issues but nothing I couldn't handle w/a little help from the principal, lol. I am so thankful to have the teachers and staff that we have at her school to help us along the way. We've got it pretty good where we are! I decided shortly after the kids started school that after taking 17 years off from school that I would go to college. I plan to get my masters in social work and go on to work for Child Protective Services. Trying to juggle my school, the kids' school and all my volunteering was so hard but I did it! Needless to say this fall when I start back I will be giving up some of(okay, a lot of)my volunteering. This makes me sad but it's what I need to do to succeed right now. This summer has been so busy! Victoria has been interning at our church in the front office and food pantry 2 days a week this summer. I am so proud of her, she's growing up so fast! She'll be in Jr. High next year, Maycie in 4th, AJ in 3rd and Cory in 1st...wow, my babies aren't babies anymore. Maycie's softball team went to Pony Nationals in Round Rock this summer. They did awesome and got to meet some of the ladies from the National Pro Fastpitch Diamonds team. Maycie was so excited! That evening we recieved news that they had invited Maycie's team back to Round Rock next year for Nationals again, to Kansas City, Missouri next year for something but I can't remember what(all-stars or state or something like that, lol)and also to Pennsylvania for the Pony world series!! HOW EXCITING!!! We will be stating to fundraise soon so if anyone knows of someone or a business that might want to help out the team, please let me know! THANKS!! We will be driving to Colorado soon to see Nana and Papa, Grandpa Mike, cousin PJ and my sisters and their families. We are all very excited(except for that 17 hour drive)to see them. The girls will be cutting their hair again in the next couple of weeks to donate to Locks of Love so be on the lookout for pics :-). Thank you so much for continuing to wonder abaout us. It makes me feel good to know that you are still curious as to how my May is doing. Love to everyone!!
