It's been over a year since anyone posted any comments on this site and I just had to write a note. I still look back on Logan's diagnosis, treatment and healing as one of God's greatest blessings in my life. I don't think of Logan that I immediately say a prayer of thanksgiving for giving us such a wonderful affirmation of His love. I'm also reminded how many other little children and parents are facing that horrible diagnosis, "It's cancer," or fighting the battle of their lives to save their child (and their sanity) and lift them up to Him in prayer hoping that He will wrap His arms around their shoulders and make it clear that they are not walking alone. Thank you Lord for all of our blessings - especially Logan! Nana <marquemooney@gmail.com> Stephenville, TX t - Tuesday, August 17, 2010 8:22 AM CDT Just wanted to stop by and say HI. I hope you are liking the 1st grade. Love the pictures on your site. Angel Angela <whyner311@aol.com> Hernando, FL usa - Sunday, October 22, 2006 8:37 AM CDT Hi there, I don’t know whether you are aware but last year we put together two calendars of children’s art contributions to raise funds to send out free personalised gifts to families from our stores, “the Kickin’ Cancer’s Butt” Store and the Give Life store. The calendar was a tremendous success and helped us to pull together some very precious gifts for families at times they really needed a bit of a boost. As a result, I have decided again to make two separate calendars for next year. One will be for our cancer fighters and angels, a repeat of last year’s “childhood cancer recognition” calendar and another will represent all of the other children on caringbridge who are dealing with difficult medical conditions too. Any name suggestions for that calendar are welcome...it will be called “The Littlest Fighters” calendar as it was last year. I’d like to give you the option of contributing towards the calendar this year. You will be given a dedicated page. As I have just started a new job, I am very limited for time this year and have decided not to include the kids’ artwork in the calendar. I will select one child for each page and put four photographs of the child. I am hoping that we will raise enough funds from the sales of the calendar to buy a free gift (upto $20 value) for each child that takes part. If the sales go as well as last year’s calendar, this is definitely achievable for us. At the moment, I am unsure of which months are available but if you could give me three months in order of preference that you might like to have as your month then I’ll try and allocate everyone their best choice if possible. We would like to make the calendar personal to families who have received gifts because you understand the value of the service for making these kids and their families feel special. Please let me know within the next week or so if you’d like to contribute some photos so that I can start to collect the names together and get an idea who will be doing each calendar. Just to emphasise, I’m not looking for any kind of monetary donation from you, just the permission to put your child on a page in the calendar. All I will need from you is: Four photographs (sent electronically to me) A little bit of information (about 100 words) to put on your page. Your preference for a month. I must emphasise that the calendar is not officially organised by caringbridge. We use the network to find the kids to send gifts to but it is in no other way involved in the production of the calendars. That’s it! Angel Crystal <elmo984582@hotmail.com> - Thursday, October 21, 2004 11:58 PM CDT Logan: Have a great trip and tell Mom and Dad to take lots of pictures. We love you. Nana and Chief <mooney@our-town.com> Stephenville, TX - Thursday, October 21, 2004 7:10 PM CDT Hi Logan, I bet you are getting excited about Disney!!! That place is such fun and I'm sure you will be well taken care of. Your mom asked for suggestions, so I'll give a few. There is so much to do, so you'll have to figure out what is best for you and your family. One of the places my kids liked the most as far as eating was the Sci-Fi Dine in Theater at MGM. You get to sit in an old convertible to eat and watch sci-fi movies like you are at a drive-in movie. Plus, they have really good burgers and awesome chocolate milkshakes. My kids also liked the Rainforest Cafe because the chicken nuggets were shaped like dinosaurs. There is a Rainforest Cafe in Animal Kingdom and also one in Downtown Disney. My daughter is a thrill seeker, so she liked the Rock-n-Roller Coaster and the Tower of Terror. My son prefered the Star Wars ride. A lot of people say that if you have young kids, then skip Epcot. That was not true for us. Our kids LOVED Epcot. The back half of Epcot is divided into countries. I bought each kid a "passport" at one of the shops there and let them go to the kidcot station in each country and get their "passport" stamped. They also got to decorate a mask and add to it at each country. The neat thing is that the workers at the kidcot stations in each country are from that country and speak that language, so the kids liked that. If you like video games, there is a place in the front part of Epcot where you can play a game of tag against other kids. My son really liked that. And, of course, the parades are always fun to watch. We also bought an autograph book and tried to get as many characters to sign it as we could. If you really want to meet characters, when you enter the park, there will be a handout that has times and places that characters will appear. That's another reason we liked EPCOT - we got LOTS of signatures there. Again, these are just some things our family did and enjoyed when we were there. I'm sure you will get lots of info once you get there and no matter what you do, you will have a blast. Look for Jacob Faherty (caringbridge.org/tx/jacobf). I think they are leaving on Saturday. Sorry this was so long. Have a blast!! Briana Roehling Pflugerville, TX - Thursday, October 21, 2004 9:35 AM CDT Your mama nearly gave me a heart attack when she said Melanie is 40. I had to do some fast calculations before I got to the end and found it was really a joke. She is 30...right? I am glad you are doing well. I have missed being able to check on you here, since my old computer crashed. I now have a new email address which I hope your Nana and Great-Granny notice, since I lost my address book in the crash. Keep swinging, litle guy, and may the Lord bless you, your family, and all your little friends. HelenH <geordielass999@hotmail.com> uk, MY CB SITE - Monday, September 20, 2004 7:00 AM CDT Logan: We really enjoyed going to the benefit football game last night to see the Granbury Firemen play the Granbury Policemen and all the wonderful things those two organizations have done to help you and Mom and Dad with your medical expenses. It may be hard for you to decide what you want to be when you grow up - a policeman or a fireman - but if you choose to go into either one of those professions I know that you will have had the best role models in the world. Our prayer is that the memories of all the procedures you've had done and what all you've had to endure since your diagnosis of cancer will gently be erased. However, if you are allowed to keep one thing close to your heart from this time in your life that it will be the love of God that has been shown to you and Mom and Dad through people like the Granbury Police and Fire Departments. We love you. Nana and Chief <mooney@our-town.com> Stephenville, TX - Sunday, September 19, 2004 2:29 PM CDT Hi Logan! The weather was cool in the morning and warm enough in the afternoon for shorts. We had such a great time . It is one of the wonderful memories we will always have of Andrew. He was so impressed when he saw Buzz Lightyear. He rode all the rides (Andrew was not afraid of anything, thank God). His favorite was the haunted house at Disney where the car dropped several stories down in the dark. He wanted to ride Men in Black but was too short so we took him in the bathroom filled his shoes with toilet paper and cariied him over dropping him down right in front of the height sign. In we went!!! It was great. He felt he had really pulled the wool over the worker's eyes. Much love,Aunt Beth Beth Blome <Blome@EV1.net> Lockhart, Tx - Thursday, August 26, 2004 11:06 AM CDT Hi Logan! My mom told me you were going to be a big brother. I am SO happy, but a teensy bit jealous. I keep asking my mommy and daddy for a new baby and they keep saying, "You ARE the baby!" Whatever! I am a big girl now and I am convinced that I can hold, change and feed a new baby. But mommy isn't coming around to my way of thinking, so I guess I'll just have to come and play with your baby. I told my mom that your baby will be a girl and you should name her Ashley. That's my favorite name. Mom says your mom and dad get to pick the name, but if my vote counts for anything, it's Ashley all the way!! Mommy tells me you've moved your Disney trip to October. Great minds think alike don't they?? We're leaving on the 16th. It will be so cool if we're there at the same time! Elisha is going the same week we are, so October is going to be a great month for Disney considering all the smart and oh-so-cute Texans are coming out there! It's late. Mommy and I are up and wanted to come visit you until I got tired again. My eyes are getting heavy, so I'm going back to bed. I love you. See you soon. Being a brother is really fun, but sometimes kinda annoying, when your little brother wants to copy everything you do. Here's a couple; Most spoons balanced on the face Tim Johnston (USA) (b. 1 January 1992), was able to balance on his face (one on each ear, two on each cheek, three on his chin, two on his lips, one on his nose and three on his forehead) and balance them for 30 seconds at on May 28, 2004. I have been praying for Connor and his family for about a year. I live in Clifton Park, NY, which is about fifteen miles north of Albany and about fifteen miles south of Saratoga Springs, in southern Saratoga County. I am surprised to see that someone else from Clifton Park signed your guest book on February 29. It is certainly a small world! I am glad to read that you are a family of faith. I am also glad that Logan's medical treatments have been successful. I pray that he may always remain in remission. I hope Logan is continuing to have fun with his friend, Murphy, the swimming dog. As you may know, Connor and his parents are having a pretty rough time, so please keep them in your prayers. God bless you all! It amazes me how easily these kids can forget what is going on with them. Drew who is 4.5 years old now and entering his 7th month of treatment still asks me once in awhile "Why do I have to go to the doctors and give blood?" I wish we could just as easily put it all out of our minds. I pray for that Logan has a very healthy future. Take care. I hope you don't think that this means you are going to be rid of me. You may be stuck with me forever. LOL, I hope you all have a great rest of the week. Love to you all. Love & Angel Hugs Angel Angela <whyner311@aol.com> Hernando, FL usa - Wednesday, July 28, 2004 8:13 PM CDT Logan: Congratulations on making it to your final day of chemo! I bet you have lots of hugs to give to some really sweet nurses who have taught and helped you through your treatments. Hope it's a good day. We're praying that you're too young to remember the really bad times during the last five months and that you'll never have to experience anything like this again in your life. Peyton's grandmother (Linda) told me several months ago that the worse part of all of this is that you and Peyton were only three, and the best part of this is that you are only three. Now that you are finishing up your treatments, hopefully all of this will fade away in your memory until it is completely gone. One thing for sure, it never will leave you mom and dad's, Marni and Dane's, Weston or Griffin's mom and dad's thoughts. Their lives have all been changed and as a result they have all learned to draw closer to God and become better people because of the change. Watching you (and Maddux and Kaleigh) grow up is the best part of growing older. We love you. Chief and Nana <mooney@our-town.com> Stephenville, TX - Wednesday, July 28, 2004 7:29 AM CDT Logan, Marcie, and Wally, Michael and I will be thinking of you tomorrow!! We need to get together really soon so you and Blake can play!! Our love and prayers are with you. Love, Stacey, Michael, and Blake Stacey Grand Prairie, TX USA - Tuesday, July 27, 2004 2:01 PM CDT Logan, we are going to be out of town by the time you are ending chemo, so we wanted to say this to you now so we don't miss this HUGE milestone in your young life. We are so very proud of you and how brave you have been these last 6 months. You have stared down something scarier than most adults will ever see, and you did it without question or without hesitation. Can you imagine what an awesome testimony you will have to share with the world when you are older and are fully aware of what you went through? We are so thankful that God let us all meet that fateful and wonderful day in clinic. You and Peyton seemed to understand that you were special and you had something so unique in common (besides crazy parents!) You were the first child that Peyton showed a remote interest in playing with since her diagnosis two months prior, and within minutes of meeting you, she was running around the clinic with you while you two played "yo yo" like old friends. And on that day, you showed Dane and I that Peyton will be well one day and would play, run and laugh like she used to, but in the meantime, Peyton felt safe enough to make a new friend. She had been so withdrawn at that time--like maybe she knew she was different from her friends, but you made her feel at ease with your matching bald heads and dislike of port accessing. You gave Peyton her smile back that day, and we will love you forever because of that. Marcie and Wally--Dr. Bowers told us a few days after diagnosis that one day, given Peyton's age, she would likely not remember much about chemo and cancer, but we, as her parents, would NEVER forget. You guys know exactly what that means, and for that reason, the 4 of us are forever bound by this unexpected cancer beast that turned out to be a blessing in a very ugly disguise. Only a mighty and loving God would put us in each others path to lean on, cry with, but mainly, to laugh with. We will love the two of you forever, because you helped give us our smile back too. And as an added bonus, our mothers got to meet and cry together about how hard this was on them too. My mom really needed to meet another grandma that was going through what she was, and bless you Marque, you were an answer to her prayers. As Logan ends this treatment, we can move on to another level of friendship and understanding--what it's like to finish treatment and hold our breath as we wait out these next 5 years until we hear that blessed word--cured. What a blessing and inspiration you all are to us. You had your own struggles, and yet you shared ours with us--our cup runneth over. Griffin gets back next weekend, Weston will be home (where he belongs) and Logan and Peyton will BOTH be done with treatment. God, in His awesome timing, is arranging us to all take a breather and spend time together. Build-a-Bear isn't going to know what hit them, and the precious pictures that are going to come out of this will be amazing!! We will see you guys very soon and know that on Wednesday, we will be thinking of you all day and thanking God for your miracle of healing and gift of friendship and love. Dane, Marni, Lindsay and Peyton <marniwhite@earthlink.net> - Tuesday, July 27, 2004 3:17 AM CDT Hi Guys, Sorry I haven't posted in a few days, we were in North Carolina since Saturday.
