Our Little Georgia

This is a journal of our 3-year-old daughter, Georgia. She was diagnosed March 6, 2003 with Wilm's Tumor, stage 2 favorable histology. On March 7 she had surgery to remove her right kidney and the softball size tumor. She started her protocol of six months of chemotherapy on March 11, 2003 and is now in remission! Georgia has been doing great, although she does suffer from chronic migraines. Thank you for visiting the site, please sign the guest book Georgia likes to have us read her messages and we are also printing them and saving them for Georgia's scrapbook!

I need to apologize for the content that was in the guest book. I'm truly sorry that I did not catch it earlier and I hope that no children read the material. Caringbridge and the local authorities have been made aware of the content and are investigating the source. Again, my apologies***

It's been so long... where to start???

GEORGIA IS DOING GREAT!!!!! She likes kindergarten, of course her favorite class is PE. Her last scans showed NED - NO EVIDENCE OF DISEASE! YAY!!! Her next scans aren't until June. I hate waiting that long, but I am sure they will be clear too!

In October we joined the Candlelighters Night Run as Georgia's Team, and once again Georgia got the trophy for the largest team. She was thrilled! She made Aaron and I so proud during the race. She ran pretty much the whole 5k and only stopped a few times to catch her breath. When she got toward the finish line she took off like I've never seen before. I don't know where she had the energy stored, but she started running so fast she was passing the adults. Our family started cheering her name and then the crowd caught on. They were all chanting her name and cheering for her. It was like a scene from a movie... and of course I cried! She later told me that she ran so fast to get the cancer out. I explained to her that she didn't have cancer anymore and she said "Not ME Mommy, the other kids."

We are gearing up for another St. Baldrick's fundraiser and I will be posting more information on here later.

We hope and pray all of our caringbridge family are doing good and are healthy.

Love ya TOOTIES,
The Holsomback's
