This is our first entry on this page and I think it is great to be able to create and keep a website up to date here at Caringbridge. Caroline was originally diagnosed on August 12, 1998 with ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia) High Risk. She had 2 1/2 years of chemo and was in remission until her 5 year anniversary checkup on August 12, 2003. Caroline relapsed on that day and she has continued to battle this disease since then. Relapse is one of those words you never want to hear when it is used in reference to your child! Fortunatley, Caroline went back into remission within the next 7 days and has remained there. She is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment at M. D. Anderson and is in week 37, she has 65 more weeks of chemo left....so....she will be taking chemo until August of 2005. I am so glad to have found this website to offer updates on Caroline and to post pics as she fights her battle. We are blessed and thankful to have Caroline as part of our family, she is 10 years old now! Caroline has an older sister, Rachel, who turns 13 in a few days and a younger brother, Andrew, who is 8. She is a fighter and is a caregiver to other children around her as she fights her own battle too! This is our first day on the website so check back and see what's happpening with Caroline! Ya'll take care!
