Brian

Brian was born June 10, 2003. He lost his amniotic fluid at 16 weeks gestation. He was born at 25 weeks with very little lung development due to the loss of fluid. Brian was in the hospital for 9 months. He came home with a trach and g-tube. He was on a home ventilator until 15 months old. He is now 5 and has had his trach removed. Brian has a 16 year old sister, Breanna. A brother, David, who is 13. Brian also has a brother, Christopher. Brian and Christopher are surviving triplets. Their sister, Brooke, passed away July 11, 2003 from a heart defect.

God has been very good to our family and we know Brian would not be where he is today without a lot of prayer from our family and friends.

Tuesday, March 17

Brian has been doing well. He has stayed well for about a month now. Breanna and I have both had a cold, but he hasn't shown any signs of catching it.

I have a meeting set up at Brian's school in April to figure out the plan for next year. I had a meeting with Brian's principal back in September to discuss having Brian repeat kindergarten, so that he and Christopher would be in the same grade. I felt pretty postive after that meeting that Brian would be held back. I sent an email to the principal this past week to remind her about out conversation and I feel a little concerned that the district may be changing their position. I am going to contact her again in a couple weeks to see where we stand. I do not want to walk into the April meeting expecting this to be a done deal and finding out that they don't want to hold Brian back. For my teacher friends out there, feel free to offer me advice. Being on the other side of the table is so very different.

Anyway, not much else going on.
