Alex Dierking's Page

It has been a year and we miss you everyday. We miss your kisses, your hugs, and your bright shining smile. You will always be my heart. Daddy and Mommy love you so much.

Our friends and family continue to surround us. People continue to talk about you; your strength, your happy spirit, your sense of humor, your gift for enjoying life, and your compassion. As you would have liked, people have continued to remember you by giving to others less fortunate in your name.

I think of you and how much you added to my life. I would never have missed a moment of my time with you or traded a second of it. You made me a better person. If I could have changed how it ended I would have traded myself.

The headstone is now out at the grave site. People continue to add rememberances at the grave. Someone stopped when we were out there and told us how nice your memorial is.

I hope someday that a cure for AML can be found and others don't have to lose the light of their lives.

We received a letter from CureSearch. The files are large and had to be scanned in as two seperate pages, it is posted at the bottom of the page. Cure Search is the combined effort of the Children’s Oncology Group (COG) and the National Childhood Cancer Foundation (NCCF) to find a cure for childhood cancer. Money given to CureSearch in Alex’s memory will be directed specifically to AML research.

I miss you so much my heart,

Everyday I think of you. It still seems like yesterday that I was holding your hand and looking into your sweet face.

Andrei is attending St. George's and everyone thinks of you and remembers. They are doing a butterfly garden in your memory and this year the Candlighter's are holding the annual rememberance and luminaria there. Aunt Doreen told me I needed to go in and clean up the area where people can write notes and I saw that Denis had been to visit. I know he will always remember his little brother.

You are my heart, my love and always will be.
