Please Call on Tuesday, March 31, 2009!!!
Welcome to Tracy Lanius' Web Page. It has been provided to keep YOU updated on his progress, and now his family's journey through grief.
After almost a year of physical problems and subsequent (and many) doctor visits, Tracy Lanius, 43 year old husband, son, and my big brother, had enough of the pain, sickness and frustration. He researched for the best doctors in the area, referred himself, and gave them his diagnosis that our primary care physician did not. On February 4, 2005, Tracy was officially diagnosed with colon cancer.
On February 22 he had surgery to remove the cancerous section of his colon. The tumor had grown through his rectum wall and wrapped itself around his semen sacs. Although the perimeters were clear, they were close, and unfortunately, the cancer had spread to his liver.
He has endured indescribable pain, sleeplessness, infection, distended bowel and bladder, weight loss, and many "stabs" with a catheter. All the while, he refuses to give in or give up. He has always said he will face this demon head on and chin up.
Cancer bites, but this cat bites back!

Monday, March 30, 2009 2:13 PM CDT We're still here...and so glad that many of YOU are, too!
Important day coming up on Tuesday, March 31, 2009...y'all help me out with this and I promise an update after that, for real! This will take longer to read than it will probably take to do...so please give us five minutes of your time...
As you know, our TEAM LEADER Tracy died three years ago at the age of 43. Our friend mentioned here before, Randy--one of my coworkers, died in January at the age of 48. My cousin Mike died March 17 at the age of 42.
All from colon cancer.
On this Tuesday, March 31st--tomorrow, take five minutes to call Congress in support of legislation that would create a National Colorectal Cancer Screening Program.
Simply dial 866-615-3375 and enter your ZIP code at the prompt. You will be directly connected to the offices of your Members of Congress.
When your phone call is answered, you simply need to say, ?I support the Colorectal Cancer Prevention, Early Detection and Treatment Act.?
(Go to coveryourbutt.org for a detailed script or for more details period!)
At the end of your phone call, DO NOT HANG UP. You will be reconnected back to the Butt-In line, where you can direct your calls to your remaining Members of Congress. Please be sure to speak with all three of your Members of Congress.
Thank YOU for your support and participation in this. Too many lives are being lost to this disease, many at ages well below the "official" screening age of 50. We have to get the word out about early detection so someone else won't lose a brother, a cousin, or a friend.
We love TEAM TRACY!
