Greetings Dear Family & Friends,

After missing all of 1st Grade (Homebound for a year of Chemo) in 2004, Matthew worked hard to make it up the next year, and has since been on the A-B Honor Roll throughout most of 1st & 2nd Grade.

Matthew is now in 3rd Grade and doing great... almost straight A's, and in very good health (2 bouts of strep in 6 weeks though), he may have to have his tonsils removed.

He just had his latest qtrly CT Scans (12-06), and no signs of any cancer anywhere (thank you God!). We can finally now switch from qtrly to 6-month CT Scans... that's been way too much unhealthy radiation for 3.5 years!!

BIG NEWS: I (Dad) got married on Nov. 4 (2006) to my very first high school sweetheart - Sherry (from 9th Grade!). The boys love her dearly, and they've really needed a loving, affectionate, in-the-home, involved mother. They are already calling her Mom. Blended families are usually very challenging (best how-to Books by Ron Deal), but our marriage harmony & family harmony is awesome!!

We all still live (near Knoxville, TN) in our big house on a 200-acre "Family Mountain" paradise, along beautiful mountain ridgetops - surrounded by loving family (Grandparents, 2 sets of Aunts & Uncles, and 10 cousins!). It's kind of like growing up on your own 'Tom Sawyer Island'. Matthew has horses to ride, trails to hike, campsites, huge pastures/ridgetops/ponds and streams to explore - between 4 Family Homes. We often see whole deer families, and sometimes coyotes.

If you'll like more Family News & Pictures (including Matthew's Adventures, come and visit our new Family Website at: www.shinn-family.com

Blessings to all, and thank you for your wonderful prayers!!

-- Rick & Sherry Shinn
