Hi Rick! God bless you and your family! This is a bit different from where I thought I would meet up with you at the moment, but all the same, my warmest greetings and Love in our Lord Jesus Christ! I am in Oklahoma, going to Bible School to credential officially the pastoral ministry I have done for years, and also working in the medical field as the means to do that....

I think of you every time I am either in the school's media center, or during our "Exaltation" service, and I am either operating a video camera or directing!

I would Love to hear from you, and get the latest on Matthew as well as you and the rest of your family!

Love and Prayers until then,

Michael David :-)

P.S. One more thing, in Italiano:

"Tu Famiglia en mia casa!"
(In my house, you are Family!)

Hey Matthew! Congratulations in staying in the fight! Jesus gives us strength to "go the distance," because He did it also in a human "vessel" we call a body... He endured so much, but He too, "went the distance!" I pray that as you stand, the excellency of His Love would encircle you, fill you, and saturate every fiber of your being! Out of that great Love flows His mercy, and grace to stand and face another day with joyful triumph! (II Corinthians 2:14) You are precious and Dear to all of us, and most of all, to the Lord! My prayers, faith, and hope are joined with yours as this season becomes a testimony of victory in the power and authority of the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

I have close friends, one who is named DJ, who has been right where you are.... and today, DJ thanks the Lord for His faithfulness to heal him! He is a dear friend, and a blessing to me! I will ask him to send a greeting to you also, I am certain he will also cheer you on!

My 9 year old niece was diagnosed 2 weeks ago w/Stage IV melanoma , metastesized to the brain. She is currently doing radiation to be followed by Chemo. We are still in shock and it is extremely difficult to understand. There are many days that I feel so much grief. All comments welcome.

Rick:
It's Sharon Heron (Rodd) from LDM '83 - 87. I will keep your son in my prayers. Our friends just celebrated their one year anniversary of losing their son's battle to leukemia on 2-25-05 and also had a webpage on Caring Bridge.
My son was born with 5 heart defects so I too, know the motto of living each day and being thankful for your precious son's life. Know that you will be in my prayers daily. I'm glad to hear about the earthly paradise he gets to live on and the support of your family. Nothing is better! Stay strong.

Our heats and prayers are with you for a miracle. We so understand the heart pain you are going through as we have been there. Our prayer is for a healing on earth for you son. Dear Rick,

I've just learned of Matthew's illness, and the trial that you and your loved ones are walking through. Having six children of my own and now a seventh through legal guardianship , I have always thought that the suffering of a child would be the most difficult suffering to go through. I know that you would gladly take the cancer for him if the Lord allowed. Instead, He is walking you through THIS school of suffering. I believe that in suffering it is important to ACCEPT what God has allowed and then SEARCH for what He has for you to learn from it. I'm not in any way saying that you shouldn't FIGHT the cancer with every means He shows you to do though!!!! God's abundant grace to you for all that lies before, His wisdom for each step you should take, and His mercy towards your precious Matthew! My prayers will be with you all...

Dear Rick & Dee,

Whenever I think of you, Rick, I see a smiling face. It was great to see you at the reunion. God is wonderfully good but what sin has done to this world sucks. May Jesus himself lay his hands on Matthew and restore him to perfect health, for His sake and His glory.

I saw John Dawson about a week ago for the first time in about eight years. When he was speaking he said, "I used to think I was living by faith, until I realized that my faith was so small, I had been living by grace all along."

May the total grace of God be upon your whole family. Dee, you've got a good man. Rick, you've got a good woman. Rick and Dee, you've got a great God.

Much love to you always.
Your brother,
Martin
