Living, Loving and Laughing in Kauai:)
Journal
Monday, August 18, 2008 1:11 PM CDT Aloha Friends... I do not update much any more....these past few years have been so nice and normal...no drama of worry, in the life of the Lewis's. We are all doing fine here in Kauai....and its been a blessing to be in a beautiful place...with healthy air to breath.
Mckenna has been a healthy girl...since getting off treamtnet 3 years ago. It is hard to believe its been that long. Sometimes it seems a life time ago...even I wonder " did it really happen...the cancer? "....but then the realtiy comes back and I just tell my self ...she made it and our GOD is keeping her healthy. We will not be getting amy more blood test done....one time a year. We did visit Omaha this summer...she got to see Dr. Thompson and the many people that took care of her for 2 1/2 years. She seemed happy to visit the clinic...the kids seemed comfortable. Kind of strange to see just how " at home" we felt. BUT they were good to us...and they did make Mckenna better. We did see new families that were just DX a week prior...and to see the look on there faces was heart wrenching....I did approach one family and tried to show my our example...that happy endings to happen. Still the long journey head for them...seems like a lifetime to go. It was a long long journey...but we had many good happy times too. The friends and family that came through for us...still to this day touches our hearts.
LIfe on Kauai is good. The kids are all adjusted to island life. Zach is almost 13 and loves the ocean and boogie boarding and laid back style. He skateboards...and has nice friends now. I see the " changes" happening .....lower voice, attitude and privacy. Tyler is still bubbley....happy and very loving. He too loves Hawaii...soccer and the friends he has. Mckenna loves hawaii...hula , soccer and school. We all miss the mainland....and will end up somewhere ...but until then we enjoy the sunsets, tradewinds and fresh air we breath.
Mark loves being a Publisher. I enjoy the perks of his hard work. Its a social career....so for me I love the community side of this job.
Thats it...a quick update from the lewis Ohana. Not sure if anyone reads my journals anymore...but its good for me to keep up with our family.... I hope our comp does not crash...I'd be sad to loose all of this.
Aloha Lisa and family.
