i wanted to write a little something to say hello to you guys. My name is Pepper Geiger and My daughter Allyson has stage 3 wilms. I am on the wilms listserv with you. I wanted to let you know that we always read your updates and since Allyson also goes to MUSC when we go we always look at laurels picture on the bulletin board and in the ultrasound room. I always remind Allyson that Laurel had what she has and beat it. That makes her feel good. It is too bad we had our appointment on Tuesday. If we had came a day earlier we might have met you. Anyway just wanted to say hello and congratulate you on you good news.

WOW I couldn't understand the no post. I have had trouble leaving entries in the guestbooks only to go back in a week or so and there is none from me for months. Just have to stick on site long enough to be sure it shows before hitting escape. BUT YAHOOO on the LTS status. I am hoping for that this year or at least a once a year visit. I tear up just remembering some of our recent visits and the little ones fighting to hard. Fighting cancer, fighting procedures, the unwelcome kinds of touch, you know I am sure. YESSSS for this report. My goodness Laurel you get prettier with each new photo. Of course they are FAR between. Nag, nag, nag. They are such long days, but I'll take them over the days of fighting the battle. I found Laurel's site while surfing the net for kids with Wilms Tumor. I just want you to know that I will have Laurel in my prayers and by the grace of God, she will have another clear scan come September 18. Laurel is such a beautiful little girl. I understand what you are going through, for my little girl, Kansas, was diagnosed this past April 21 with bilateral Wilms Tumor. She is currently still receiving her post-op chemo and hopefully, she be finished in November. I just wanted you to know that now you have someone else praying for you. Hello! I am so glad to hear that you are in remission! That is great! I got your link from my son's (Aidan King)site. I also wanted to say not to worry about your "selective mutisim;" I have been through that myself. Now I am 28 and an annoying loud-mouth!:) I remember getting in trouble during show and tell for not "telling" about my stuffed parrot; I was so confused because it took me everything that I had to stand up in from of the class, let alone talk! My mom used to have to come to school mid day and get me off of the pole at recess; I would climb to the top and refuse to come down until mom came to get me down:) At some point in 4th grade, I slowly came out of my inablitly to talk to someone other than my mom, dad, and sisters! And I think I turned out OK:) Keep being strong and beautiful!

Sooooooooooo glad to finally see a update and know that ya'll are OK. I have followed Laurel Rose for quite some time, so I was was worried. I pray for your family daily. I know times can be rough as they are also at my house. I am disabled with severe diabetic neuropathy, and hubby also with COPD. He is on oxygen 24/7, and neither of us can work, so things are hard. I only tell you these things to let you know, I understand. Please know I think of ya'll and pray for ya'll daily.

Laurel's checkup is the same day of Leigha's transplant. We met with the dr. today and so far all the tests have come back with good results and he feels she is in good shape to go to transplant. The LTN walk we did was in MB across from the former Pavilion. Kisses to Laurel.

Kathy thanks for your encouraging words! Donnie had some blood test today so we'll find out tomorrow if he'll get treatment on Wednesday. Whatever really I don't mind the break I don't think he does either he actually gained weight! He is not on that medication you asked me about sorry I can't remember the name. I am blessed to have 2 families around us that have gone through this awful ordeal, but we have to be some strong people to be given this huge battle! I hope you can touch base with the families that are on vacation, if I'm ever in Myrtle Beach I'll make sure to stop by! We'll keep in touch! ~Jess

I'm glad camp was such a FUN experience. Autumn gets to try camp Jornada this summer..she's pretty excited. Hello Kathy

Sorry I have nto been able to check in until now. We have spent way to much time sitting in doctors offices this month and at the "spa". And here we are at the "spa" once again.

I am SO-SO glad Laurel is going to be getting the help she needs. God is so good!

My precious one does not talk to anyone she does not know! If you met her face to face she would do just was Laurel is doing. She even does it around kids not just adults, I am not sure if Laurel is like that or not. But as you know we deal with "autism" and that is a major trait.
If you need any information please feel free to contact me. I am so far behind on getting back to people mind you.

Thanks for the well-wishes and prayers! We had CLEAR tests yesterday! It was a big relief to hear that again, although our clinic has never once used the term NED (even though she is)..our NP said----everything is still boring!
I'm glad the new school worked out, I'm sure with finding all this out, Laurel will now move forward!

Oh I know it seems to never end. I have been keeping you in my prayers like you wouldn't believe! When Ellie was diagnosed with Wilms we had to call up Ford and tell them to pick up there car, we can not longer pay for it. I know the stress that put me through. The creditors just found us after two years this past week. I know the stress I went under with a car, oh it was not a house though. I am putting Lauels photo up on our refigerator as a constant reminder to people to pray for your family. Yes I think we can both agree that we feel more then blessed to be able to hold our babies in our arms, however it doen't mean that these times can't easly pull us down. I say this because I know I feel awful at times with the way things are because of Ellies Cancer however I feel like I have no room to complain. You do, and know that you have thousands of people cheering on your family. We are praying for you that all works out the way it is suppose to! We will be holding Laurel in our prayers as she goes in for scans.

Hello Kathy

I am not sure why I stopped in as when my daughter is in the spa. I feel so guilty reading sites as she loves to leave the messages. I have to think it is a "God thing".

I do know where you are coming from! We had to sell our homes last year to pay for medical and move in with friends. Then we managed to get on our fet and buy a very small house and was a "power of sale" it was dirt cheap. Cheaper then a car! Then as we were moving in part of it burnt! I thought what next. Things just kept coming. It never ended.
Just this month the company dad worked for burnt to the ground. So now he is not working. Daughters medical a month is no longer covered at all. It does not seem to end.
On top of it. I found out I have cancer. And head to the operating room in the morning. As my daughter is at one spa and I am at another.
I ask the same does it end? I am on board with that and people just "dont get it".
Please know I am here for you.

YAY Mom good to hear about Laurel again. Been checking, now we just need to get that home computer well!!!! Hope Laurel feels better, and her waist is not hurting. It is just so stressful when these children are so young they really can't communicate just how they feel. Glad to hear there is another Rhabdoid Tumor of the Kidney (RTK) survivor out there. If you are still in contact with Dane�s grandma, tell them to check out www.rhabdoidkids.com. This is a great site that connects the Rhabdoid community. (Do to the rarity of the RTK there are only a handful of RTK kids listed. The majority of the kids have Rhabdoid brain tumors). It has been a huge resource for us.

Glad to hear Laurel is doing well. Her next scans are one day after Jackson�s. We will keep her in our prayers.
