Justin Albers

Justin was diagnosed with "microcephaly with simplified gyral patterns" in July 2000 and a cervical spinal cord tumor in July 2001. He has had 1 surgery to biopsy and possible remove the tumor. The removal was not possible and the tumor came out of remission 9 months later. He finished a 22 month course of chemo in May 2004. The tumor came out of remission in December 2004. After speaking with numerous doctors throughout the USA; at this time technology has not developed a procedure that will enalbe the doctors to remove the tumor without perminant or deadly damage. We were instructed to wait and pray that someone would develop something that would help Justin before the tumor takes him from us. So we are in a holding pattern.

We had orthopedic appt. yesterday and neurosurgeon appt. today; but we are finished for this week. We have some more appointments next week. Hopefully it will slow down until the first of next year.

The orthopedic appt. went very well. Dr. Beckish is extremely proud of Justin's progress. We were released for 6 months verses 3 months this time.

The neurosurgeon appt. went well. We have been in a medication change for the last 6 months. We think that we have finally reached the ideal place for Justin we just have to tweek the mg per time of day. That will be much easier than the increase.

My brother has been encouraging me to start a blog. So I stepped out on a limb and tried it. I am hoping to share information that I have found and encouragement. We will see how it goes. My site is http://www.jkamom.blogspot.com
