Welcome to Jarrett's Page. Jarrett is an active 7year old boy. He loves all sports - baseball, football (especially the James F. Byrnes Rebels), soccer, basketball, and NASCAR. He enjoys singing with his daddy and playing outside with his sister, Olivia.
Jarrett has been diagnosed with Neuroblastoma. Neuroblastoma is a rare solid tumor childhood cancer. It arrises from the neurocrest cells. Jarrett's tumor began on his adrenal gland (above his kidney). It spread to the right kidney, spleen, pancreas, and liver. It also displaced his inferior vena cava and the abdominal arota. The cancer has also spread to his lymph nodes, bone marrow, and four areas on his bones (his skull, four ribs, and a vertebra). Jarrett has undergone 6 rounds of chemotherapy and surgery to remove his right kidney and the main tumor. He had a stem cell transplant in Charleston, SC and undergone 12 radiation treatments in Greenville, SC. He has completed 6 months of oral chemo. Jarrett is now enjoying being off of all of treatments.

Just a quick update. Jarrett's football team is now 2 and 0!! Jarrett played better in the last game. I guess he is getting used to running up and hitting total strangers. He was a defensive back in the last game. He likes this position better than tackle. We will see what position he plays tomorrow.
School in going great for Olivia. Her grades have improved this year over last years grades. She loves middle school!!
Jarrett is struggling with reading comprehension. I hope his hearing impaired teacher will be able to help him improve on this skill.
Nathan loves kindergarden. He is making new friends and learning new things.
All of us are loving the cooler fall weather!!!! We have actually had rain on a regular basis!!!!! Praise God!! We have been a draught for some time now. The rain is a real blessing to everyone.
Please remember all those impacted by hurricane Ike.
