Hope you are all doing well. Our son Josh, dx 3/04 & finished up treatment in 7/07, is doing great. Josh shared the same diagnosis and same cytogenetic(?) results as Bryce. Just thinking of all of you and hoping your Bryce is doing well too.

HELP ST. JUDE BY CREATING A PEPPER AT CHILI'S TO FIGHT CHILDHOOD CANCER!!!!

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Chili’s Grill & Bar® announced the kick-off of their fifth annual Create-A-Pepper to Fight Childhood Cancer campaign. Now through September 30, Chili’s restaurants around the country and, for the first time, in Puerto Rico, are marking National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month by inviting people to get creative and raise funds to help St. Jude find cures and save children with cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases.
Guests at participating Chili’s restaurants can contribute to St. Jude in multiple ways:

- Make a donation to St. Jude and receive a Create-A-Pepper chili pepper coloring sheet designed for display at restaurants during the month.

- Purchase Create-A-Pepper T-shirts that can be customized with permanent marker.

- Buy a customized Create-A-Pepper key that can be cut for use at home or the office.

- Eat at Chili’s on Monday, Sept. 29, when Chili’s will donate 100 percent of profits from participating restaurant sales to St. Jude.

Visit www.createapepper.com and to make an online donation.

Hey Bryce and Tina - Where did you manage to find snow in NJ? - 'cause we haven't seen it for more than a few hours at a time lately (sigh...). I'm glad you enjoyed your trip, though sorry to hear that you weren't feeling well when you left.

Tina,
Thanks so much for sharing your update with the list!
Kaitlyn has a few months left- pretty much close enough where we thought maybe we were home free, but WHAMO. She ended up inpatient for the past two weeks. Pretty depressing, but reading your update restored my excitement about getting close to the finish line and that life does get back to normal things!
Thanks again for that much needed lift.
Bryce and his brother are adorable!
Many blessings,

I am so glad to hear that the end is almost near - only 3 months away. I know all of you must be so excited and anxious for that big day. Tina, no worries about the vomiting fear b/c I hate throwing up as much as you do. I would rather suffer than have to get sick. Hey Byrce and Vance this is Shana Savage a Cav student at Richland Northeast. I was one of your dads student back in 7th grade. I am now in 11th grade. My prayers are with you all and I pray that God continues to bless your family, Just keep Him first in everything you do. I have to struggle with diabetes and its not easy at all. But when I think of my struggles I thank God because I know that I am special and He will never put more on me then I could bare.
So remember that in everything that your family goes through big or small.

Hey guys! I have to tell you a funny story....C.J. was helping fold the laundry and He was getting confused on what belonged to who. So he asked me, "Is this Joseph's or Chandler's?" Joseph stuck his head around the corner and said' "It's Bryce's!" We thought that was pretty funny. Hope to see you soon!

Hello - it seems that things are slowing down now that school is about to start. I hope all of you are ready for another exciting school year to begin. Tina, I know you wish it was already next summer and if I was working in the school system I would feel the same way. From your pictures it seems that the boys are very talented in sports. Did they get that from Rodney or you, Tina? We had our cheerleading talents, but the boys probably won't be following in our footsteps. Well, take care and I will write again soon.

Josh's counts have bounced around a bit during LTM too. Hope the added chemo goes okay. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Happy holidays everyone! Sorry to hear about the sicknesses going around. Unfortunately it is that time of year, but hopefully that will be the last of it for all of you. I hope you have a good time visiting in NJ (don't freeze!). I'm sure Santa will be good to you Bryce and Vance because you are both such good children (most of the time anyway). Have a wonderful Christmas and a fun new year's.

Hi Bryce, I love all your pictures on your website. What a cute new kitten. I love your song too! I saw your site in a note from your Mom on ALL-Kids. I thought I'd stop by and visit after I saw so many similarities between you and my son Josh. My son Josh was dx with pre-B ALL, in March 2004, with balanced t(1;19). Josh also had a deletion of chromosome 13. Josh is also on an augmented treatment protocol, modeled after CCG-1991 Arm D. His docs missed the "augmented part" for the first two months, so he's not actually on study, but he's following CCG-1991 anyway. He had two DIs and escalating doses of IV mtx. I'm happy to say that he's in LTM now too, and doing really well. He's 4 years old. Take care little buddy!
Hugs to you!!!! Love, Hilda (Mom to Emma 7 and Josh 4)

Hello to all the Summers,
With the beginning of a new Sunday School year here at Northeast Presbyterian, I officially welcome you into the elementary school department. Vance was my number one kindergarten participant Sunday morning in our big Fellowship Hall Kdg - 5th grade setting. Not intimidated by the "big kids", his hand shot up when I asked the question "Who made us, and Why did He make us? His answer was right on target..."God made us...because He loved us and wanted us to be His friends." Though your family has walked a most difficult walk these last 18 months, eternal fruit is so, so evident. My heart feels giddy each time I see Vance and Bryce running through the halls at church. They have such an eagerness and energy and zest for life. I look forward to the years in Promiseland that we will share together. Your family has been an inspiration to me and to so many others in the NEPC family. Love, Marcia Bradberry, Elementary School Director

Hey Bryce, the pictures are cute! I heard you started school this year. I'm sure things are going well and you have lots of stories to tell your parents when you get home. Football season rises again! I will assume that Bryce and Vance will one day be future football players???? I like that picture - all three of you look so healthy. I can't say much for the disciplinary behavior at school since I'm on the other end teaching. It doesn't matter though - I bet you both are still excellent students. Enjoy the start of the school year and try not to get into too much trouble!

Boy howdy, that is one good-looking group of men in that photo!! What a great pic! Sounds like school is off to a good start - and I know you are happy with getting such great teachers for both Bryce and Vance. Thanks for the update! We will be praying for higher counts for Bryce.

Hey! I heard someone has been in timeout. So has Thomas for school and YMCA. All three kids have been in bed by 7:30 and Stacey by 8. Are you getting T-shirts for the walk with pictures of Bryce on them. If so, let me purchase some from you and we will wear them on the walk up in Rock Hill. Stacey and I have a computer at home now and the email address is staceyclay@peoplepc.com. thought you may want to know. The pictures look great. Tell Rodnes to send me his schedule so I will know when he is coming up here to play. Congrats on getting a kitten from Nanny. I heard you are taking two of them.

FINALLY - I got to hear your song Bryce. I love it. It has a slight reggae rhythm to it. Very cool. I hope you are enjoying school as well as the rest of your family. My kids start next week. I have met some of them and they seem very nice. I'm sure you and Vance will make lots of friends and make sure you're extra nice to your school librarian (that's my profession!). Take care.

Hello Bryce! I love your web site. I am so glad to be able to read about how you are doing so I can pray for you and your family.

I love the pictures of you on the body board. That is REALLY cool. And your new school clothes are awesome. Do you know what? My two boys (6 and 4) will NOT eat mac and cheese? What is wrong with them? Will you show them how to do that sometime? Great. By the way . . . who was the 18th President of the United States . . . :) No, not Condoleeza Rice . . . :)
I hope you have a great week and feel good and eat all the mac and cheese you want. (Eat some for me since we don't eat it right now at our house.) Have fun and stay out of this rain! Still praying for you . . . Donna Lehman for the Lehman family

Hi everyone! I don't know where to begin with this entry. There is so much going on in your lives right now. I am very excited for you both - Vance and Bryce about being on the radio and I can't wait to hear the broadcast. The pajama scenario cracked me up. Tina, I have known you for so long and having that happen definitely reflects your personality (in a good way) and brought some much needed humor into your lives. I am always thinking of all of you and will keep you in my continued thoughts and prayers. Soon I will be on the east coast and can't wait for all of us to hang out together.

I will also pass your name on to my friends so they can add you to their prayer lists. I hope to meet you some day soon so you can tell me all about your life. Hi, Folks:
I'm a friend of David Williams. What you are going through is extremely familiar. Our son, Ashley, had cancer at age 10. Praise the Lord, he was made well eventually! We were not a believing family at the time, but God had surrounded us with believers who prayed endlessly for mercy. I pray the same for your Bryce (and Vance!). In His strength, we can make it!!

Hi Bryce

You look so cute and peaceful sleeping. You remind me a lot of my new baby, River when he is sleeping. Sometimes he has one eye open too! We have never met, but your mom and I went to high school and college together. One day, we will tell you about our crazy stories (not all of them). We had a lot of fun together. I hope to make it out to SC and see your mom again and the rest of your family. You and Vance can play with River. By the time we make it out there he will probably be around 2 or 3 years old. I hope you have a good weekend and stay healthy!

Hey buddy. You look just like I did the other day sleeping (with one eye opened). Mommy tried to wake ME up b/c she thought something was wrong with me (ha! ha!). Tell Vance not to give you his virus. I hope you are doing well. Thank you for my new bracelet. It fits so much better! You have a birthday coming up soon. You are going to be a BIG 3 year old! Happy Halloween! As I was reading your update this morning, I couldn't help remembering a special sweatshirt someone gave Kasey at Halloween while she was going through chemo. It was black and had 4 little skeletons tap dancing across the top with top hats and tap shoes. Under the skeletons it said..."Spinal Taps". I'm so thankful that Bryce is put to sleep...Kasey says to this day how horrible those things were. She loved the bracelet Vance gave her. Hi Bryce, Tina and Rodney - Your uncle, David Williams, asked us to pray for you many months ago. We have been praying and we will continue to do so. You see we know personally about the power of prayer. Our son, Will, was nine years old when he was diagnosed with Burkett's Lymphoma which had spread to his bone marrow. He only had a 20% chance of survival, but with "God all things are possible." He is now 28 years old and very healthy! May God continue to work in your lives! Ron and Gayle Troutman

Tina, Rodney, Vance, and Bryce,
I am so glad to see that you have set up a website! This has been such a great way for people to view Reece's website and keep up to date without having to call and feel like they are interrupting the family! I am so glad Bryce is responding well (besides the nausia) to all of his treatments. He is in our prayers, as well as your whole family, and I can't wait to meet you all soon! You have been such a wonderful information and advice source for my sister and I can't begin to explain how much that means to me to know that she is comfoted by talking to you! God bless your family and I know He will pull us all through this... stronger than ever! Please call me if I can do ANYTHING b/c I live close and pass by your house often!
Love and Prayers, Caroline (Jennifer Holbrook's sister)

I Love this new web page, it is a great way for all of us to keep up with you all on a regular basis. Tina it was nice to meet you the other night and you have two very special little boys. Vance, I know you are taking great care of your little brother-keep up the good work. Bryce, I loved the big hug you gave me the other night when I dropped off dinner. You are a brave little boy and I really enjoyed meeting you for the first time. Hang in there buddy and remember you have a ton of people praying for you each day and cheering you on. Our thoughts and prayers will be with each of you through these next phases.

Dear, dear Tina, I am Reece's Goo Goo (Grandmother--Jenn's Mom)and I just don't know how she could have handled all this so far without you. I have surely been praying for all of you since we luckily "discovered" you. I just can't thank you enough for all of your advice, support, and experiences (down to the color of poo poo). You all will forever be in my prayers and if there is anything that I can help you with, I'm right here in Columbia. Thanks, again and please give that precious Bryce a big hug for me!

Hello,
I am one of Reece's (and Jenn's) friends in Durham and i just wanted to let you know that we are praying for you guys as well and keeping you in our thoughts. We are their neighbors and our husbands coach together, so we have been very close to their situation and we understand just how tough it is for you and Bryce! Thanks so much for being there for Jenn. I know she so appreciates your support and she talks all the time about how comforting it is to be able to have support from someone who is going thru it too!! Take care and hugs to Bryce....hope to meet you all one day.

Hi Bryce! I work with your dad at Dent Middle School and I also have a daughter that is about your age. My children (Joshua, Jordan, and Jerrica) and I have been praying for you during our prayer time and Joshua, my nine-year old frequently asks how you are doing. I will tell them about this website so they can go on line themselves to see your pictures and read your journal. God Bless!

Hey Bryce! You don't know me yet, but you and I are going to be good buddies. My name is Reece and I am 2 years old, too. I have that yucky stuff in my body, also, but it is going to be gone soon...JUST LIKE YOUR'S! Your mommy and my mommy talk all the time about us and they love each of us so much! I hope you get over the throw-ups soon. I'm not looking forward to that stage! YUK! Take care, buddie, and I can't wait to meet you soon!
