April 26, 1985 - January 1, 2003
We rejoice that she is in Heaven!

Journal

It is so hard to believe that Bethany has been gone for four years. It sometimes seems like yesterday, then again, forever.

Our family has changed a lot since then. Jill and Jeremy had a son, J.J., that was born before Bethany died. Since then, they have had two more children, a little girl born 7-3-2004,(Bethany Dawn, and a new one this year born 5/22/06, Caleb Bradley Rose.
Jeremy is serving as youth pastor at West Cabarrus Church, located close to Lowe's Motor Speedway in Concord, and is in seminary. Jill is a stay at home Mom, and probably works harder than all of us.

Kim and Jimmie got married in April 2003, and Nicholas James was born Feb 2004, and this year they added Benjamin Case Ross, so for me that is five grandchildren, all 4 and under!

I also remarried, Jim Gilmore, whom I was seeing before all of this happened, and he has two grandsons also,(Thomas & Luke Justice) they are in high school, so they at least are older. We married in 2005, and Bethany's Dad has remarried also, and we are all very happy for each other.

We miss Bethany very much, especially when we all get together, we know how very very much she would LOVE all the babies. Time is a great healer, and we are now at least able to talk about it, and maybe try to reach out to others in the same situation as we experienced.

We were all very touched by Hannah Sobeski, another young girl at our church, who followed much the same path as Bethany, who passed away in November after about six months fighting sarcoma. Bethany was remembered at church during some special prayer times for Hannah, which we appreciated very much.
Hannah had a caring bridge site also, so many of Bethany's friends remarked to me how strangely familiar all the events seemed, as well as their parallel lives, both strong Christian Girls, active in Mission at First Baptist, from Roebuck, S.C., and attended the same middle school, and high school, also both died during Senior Year.
Hannah's mother shared with me a devotion Hannah had presented while in middle school which praised the way Bethany handled the strife in her life, and still put God first. Hannah challenged herself to do the same, not knowing then that she would be put to the test. Hannah came through with flying colors too, she "passed the torch" to many whose lives have been changed. Her story is incredible, if you are interested, her site is just

I still get contribution in Bethany's memory, both to CEF and our Youth group, which I greatly appreciate.

I think my greatest fear is that she would be forgotten, but she LIVES! Praise God.

I am posting some new photos of our family!
love in Christ,
Pam
