I have not been feeling right for a long time. My friend Lana said I should go with her to Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN in February 2014. So I decided to go Jeff and Shawn though it would be a good idea to have a check up and see if anything is going on. After some tests they found I have a big Hernia in my stomach. T hey call is a Complex Incisional Hernia. I met with the surgeon that same day and discuss what needs to be done. We decided it would be good to wait until now to have the surgery. Monday Sept. 15,2014 We left GF and made it to Rochester about 4pm. Took a little longer to get through the cities but all went well. checked into our hotel and went to have supper. Later we checked out the Appachie Mall here very nice mall. Tired had a long day and have to get up early my 1st apt.is at 6:45am.Will send update after my apts tomorrow. Tuesday September 16, 2014 Everything went good today. Have to check in at 6 45 am at St Mary's hospital. The surgeon thought maybe a 3 hr surgery but not sure till he opens me and sees what is going on. Jeff will write updates tomorrow. Surgery went well and it took 6 hours instead of 3.5. The doctor said that he was very happy with the surgery and all looks good. Thursday Sept.18th...I went to see Kay in the morning before heading back to Grand Forks. The pain management team we in to see her and figure out the best treatment to keep her pain at a manageable level. I got home to Grand Forks about 5:00PM this afternoon. Called her about 7:00pm and she had been sitting up for a while this morning, but was in a lot of pain. She will not be able to leave until EVERYTHING is working right. Will call again tomorrow and find out the progress.
