I know that I do not update Shannon's page enough and I do apoligize. No more waiting for news of Sha's MRI.
1-8-04 compared with 10-11-03 no chage. STABLE TUMOR.
As for our vacation to GIVE KIDS THE WORLD it was great. We had so much fun. Shannon held a baby aligator, had breakfast with Micky & Minney, danced with Shamo, and rode on the rollar coasters. Brain tumors kids are so brave. Shannon had a blast and so did her big brother and little sister. After that fabulous 6 days, We were flown to Atlanta GA. for a Christmas party. The Brain Tumor Foundation for Children & Family, invited Shannon and her family. It was a great time. Thank you Mary Campbell.

Shannon is doing great and will enjoy getting back to school.
Thank you and please continue to pray for the strength of the Lord to touch our family.

Thank you all so much for signing Shannon's guestbook.

We love hearing how many people still pray for our little angel.

Shannon is a fighter and continues to do her best at being independent. She wishes so much that she could walk. Sometimes in the morning she will say, "Please mommy hold my hand, i not need my chair i wanna walk"
It brings tears to my ears.

Our family is leaving Thankgiving morning for an all expence paid 6 day vacation. Thanks to Barbara Lightner at Joining Hands of Florida Inc.
We are going to "Give Kids The World" its a home away from home in a fairytype setting, like a neverland, for terminally ill children and their families. From what i've heard, we are going to have a great time. As long as Shannon remains well.
She has been battleing low blood counts and low grade fevers. But still spunky as ever.

Thanks again and continue to pray for Shannon's well being. And my sanity. lOl

Wow how time sure flys by.
Shannon never completed her 10th cycle of Temador. She ended up sick and the doctor said to stop the chemo for now. Well we did, and haven't heard from her dr. so we never made her finish. Shannon is doing well. She is enjoying her school. And her Aunt Connie is here from Colorado Springs. Shannon says, "i love you aunt connie"
The rest of the family is well.

Please sign Shanny's page.

Love and prayers for all.

Shannon is taking her chemotherapy this week. So far so good.
However; after meeting with her doctor on Monday life is very depressing. Her doctor did not offer us any real hope.
The chemotherapy does not seem to be working as expected.
On October 3rd she will have her MRI. At that time we will have to decide on a new treatment. Probably radiation with more chemo.
Shannon is still going to school and she loves it.
She has lost all the weight gain from the steroids. Thank goodness. She is still happy and plays with her brother and sister.
As for the family we are just enjoying day to day and love to hear our children laughing and having a good time.

Tuesday, August 19, 2003 8:18 PM CDT

Shannon is now on her 8th cycle of "Temador" chemotherapy treatment. She is so very tired and has not been able to attend school this week because of the treatment. This makes her very sad. She is also still missing her little sister Megan, who is up north on vacation with family. Shannon cries for her sissy everyday. Her speech is getting so good. She learned the Twinkle Twinkle Little Star song in school last week and sings it well. She isn't able to walk with her walker very well because of the weakness from chemo.
Shannon is our little fighter in the family.
Please continue to pray for God's healing touch.

Anyone wanting some of Shannon's bookmarks , please send me an address and specify about how many you'd like. Thanks. We still have lots of # 3 bookmarks and now a 4th bookmark.
Shannon was taking off the steroids about 6 weeks ago by mom and dad. We did not like how much weight she was gaining. Shannon's bloodcounts have been very low for about 3 weeks. She was suppose to start her 7th round with Chemotherapy treatment, Temador, on the 14th. The doctor decided for her to skip the Chemo this week and hope that her counts come back up. Also Shannon is out of town for a vacation in Indiana with her daddy and Bradley and Magie. They left last Tuesday and should be home somtime this weekend.
From what I hear she is having a great time and doing quite well. Other than some belly aches. Im sure thats form all the junk food dad is giving her. LOL
Bradley is having a great summer and Magie just celebrated her 3rd birthday. Bradley's birthday is coming up on the 26th of July. He would love to get some email birthday cards. His adress is UGIOBRAD@aol.com.
Our family is well.
Thankyou for your continuing prayers and support.

Shannon made it home from the Hospital on Wednesday. She was put on steroids. Hope fully to reduce swelling in her brain. Her MRI showed a 10% increase in her tumor.
We followed up with her oncoligist in Gainesville on Monday. Shannon was started on Temador. It is a very toxic chemotherapy. She takes 5 capsules and 4 pills every nite at home. Today was her 3rd day and so far she is good. Other than vomiting some and being tired. Shannon will continue the Temador for 2 more days. than only 4 pills for 23 days. Then another round. Actully they are called cycles and she is on for 10 cycles. Basicly our Baby will be on this for the next year.
Please pray for good health in and around our family to keep Shannon safe this year.
We are hopeing to have a new bookmark soon for her 4th birthday.
Love and prayers to all.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Aunt Vicky.

Shannon was admitted to Shands on Monday. Vomiting and headaches are true signs of tumor increase or fluid build up. Shannon's tumor has grown 10%. We are not sure of our next road to travel. Please pray for Shannon and family to make the right choices.
Terry and I had a fabulous weekend in Ft. Laurderdale at the FBTA. We gathered lots of material and spent time with our family in the Brain Tumor Community. Thank you to Sheryl for making the conference possible. She is an inspiration to all of us.

Shannon had a sleep study last month wich showed that her sleep apnia was caused from enlarged tonsils. She has also been on 3 different antibiotics for ear infection and runny nose. the doctors believe Shannon's adnoids are the problem.
She is being admitted to Shand's Hospital Friday 10-9-02. We were told Shannon will only stay one night for observation. Please pray that there are no complications and we do come home on Saturday.
My worst fear is that the infection is spread to her brain.
We will get through this obstacle as we always do with the love and support of so many.
Thank You

Shannon went to the mall with mom today and her friend Willy. Shannon took a hard fall in the Books a Million store.
She rode in an ambalance to the ER. She recieved 6 stiches in her bottom lip.
Shannonis doing great. She is recieving no treatment right now. Her next MRI will be in November. We hope to get a consult with the Nero-radioligist.
October 2nd Shannon is having a sleep study done, to see if her oxygen levels drop at night. She has a hard time breathing even when proped on a pillow.

Thank you all for your continuing Prayers.
God Bless our family, and yours.

Tuesday, July 30, 2002 at 07:41 PM (CDT)

Our family had a wonderful vacation last week. We spent time with Shannon's grandparents in Baltimore, visited with Aunt Vicky and Mr. Bill, And went to the mountains for a .family reunion. It was lots of fun.
However we are home now and our Shannygirl has been admitted to Shands. Her blood counts are very low, she has been running a fever 103, and vomiting on a daily basis. Shannon's little cheeks are very rosey red too. She seems really drained, although the long drive drained all of us. The doctors plan to do x-rays and an MRI. The think Shannon may have another infection at her incesion cite.
Please pray for our family to be comforted and have the strength to get through this again. Shannon hates the hospital, and hates that her little siter Magie isn't there to sleep by her side. Daddy will have to do for tonite. Peace and love to all. Lisa

“From Above”

Shannon was sent to us from above,
To fill our lives with lots of Love.

She is a baby sister to her brother Bradley,
& a big sister to Little Magie.

Shannon Andrews is her name,
She has a tumor in her Brain.

She faces many challenges everyday, unable to walk,
Her hands and knees help her get on her way.

With her speech being impaired,
Her desires are not always shared.

One day at a time is all we know,
Our day are precious so we take them slow.

With lots of love, hugs, & kisses,
We continue looking for the star,
Which grants special wishes.

Our wishes are heard way above
To God our Father
In which we love.

Shannon did a great job leading all the Cancer survivors in the walk.
She had the 24 hour stomache flu this week, but I think we are just about over it. She is doing very well at the moment.
Yesterday she tried to take a step with no help, but fell to her knees. She continues to be strong and fight her cancer.
