When I got to meet Rachel at Anna Maria College I knew she was special and then I heard her story and I knew she was brave. I only recently found out about this blog but I am so happy I did, Rachel, Mikey, John, you are all so amazing and reading this has inspired me to get on the bone marrow donation registry. I already donated blood but I can see now that, that is not enough. Rachel Hardy You are so brave, strong, and beautiful and I am glad to call you my friend.

Hi Cousin Rachael ~ Been a long while since visiting your home {2000} and then met up with you all in Minnesota. We are very happy to read your last update. We have kept you, Mikey and your parents in our prayers from the night your mom and dad told me about your diagnos is when I stopped by in 2000. GOD is good and sends special people, like your marrow doner. I have lost your folks email address in one of my several computer crashes. I assume your dad is still on the police department....last I knew, he had made Lt, and that was my last contact. Well GOD bless you all and please give your folks our best. Loving you all and GOD.

I pray that every thing is going great their for you. Please pray for LaKota's Grandma, my mom, she was diagnosed with a tumor on her lung,and the doctor said it looks like cancer. I did set up a web page for her on the caring bridge, it is.....shirleysizer

Thank you for the reminder about what is REALLY important in life! My daughter, Erin, underwent a bone marrow transplant for FA last spring (in May) in Minneapolis. She is doing extremely well today (we thank God for that every single day!), however, I was beginning to slip back into "normal" mode, where it's easy to forget what we went through a year ago. In spite of how difficult the journey was through transplant, I never want to forget it, because it helps me remember what is truly important in life! Thanks for the reminder...
