Hello, it is so nice to meet you. We too are an NB survivor family. Our son Jared, was dx at the age of 2 in 7/2003 with stage IV NB and has been NED since 12/2003. You can now be our mentor, as we try to be a mentor to newly dx NB kids. You keep up the good health and living everyday to the fullest. You deserve it.

p.s. I just recently joined the ped-onc survivor list and that is where I came across your web site.

Jack:
I check on you often through your website (since I don't get to see you as much anymore). I am so excited to hear the great report you got at St. Jude. I miss seeing you on the baseball field but I know you are doing a good job for your team this year. Remember, the most important thing is that you give 100% every play and have fun doing it....everything else will take care of itself. I will do my best to get to some of your games. It may take me a while as we have a new addition in our house. Bo Evans was born April 4th at 6:46 pm. He is very handsome and a great baby but we are running a little low on sleep.

Again, I am thrilled with the good news and I can't wait to see you at the park. Tell your Mom, Dad, and Gus hello for me.

A giraffe looks in my window
At the same time everyday,
He just appears with silly ears,
When I turn on the light to play.

I tell him the things I do at two
While he munches and crunches the leaves,
That are so very tasty too,
From the tippy tops of the trees.

One night he didn’t look so good,
His eyes were filled with pain.
I asked him, "What is the problem, the food?"
He said, "I must explain!"

"My knees are hurting pretty bad
And my long neck is so sore.
I really do like our talks,
But I can't take much more!
If you do a favor for me,
I know how my pain will be free.

CAN YOU MOVE UP TO THE SECOND FLOOR!!!

I am thrilled that Jack is doing so well and thankful that the Websters have had you as such a great friend and supporter. Thank you for all of the ways that you served them. Your updates on Lana Beth were such a blessing for all that went to her site. Praying for all good test results .... Phil 4:6

Dear Beth, I will be praying for your safety as you travel to Memphis and especially for clear scans for Jack. I've never met you, however, you are one special lady. I am so thankful for all you did for Lana Beth, Jim, Cindy, Alan, and Cole as well as for all of our family. I am Cindy's cousin though she has always seemed like a niece. Her father lived with our family all my life. Then, I found out that you are related to Herman and Carolyn White, my husband went to school with Carolyn and we attend the same church, (have for years) I will truly be watching the web site, and praying for Jack just as we did Lana Beth. Please e-mail me when you have a moment. I would love to return some of the kindness you have shown to all our family. God bless you and give you a safe trip. We'll be praying for you. Phyllis Powell

Hi Beth, You don't know me, I am Cindy's Aunt on her Mother's side. I will add Jack to my prayer list and hope you have a safe and successful trip to Memphis. I always checked Lana Beth's web site everyday, and I too miss her, even if I didn't get to visit often. I was in NY with them for two weeks a couple of years ago, and she was truly an inspiration to all whom she met. Her love of dogs, even in NY, was something to see. Good Luck. Susie

Hi,
I found Jack's site through Lana Beth's. My daughter, Morgan, was diagnosed with neuroblastoma in July 2002. She and Lana Beth shared a room at MSKCC once while they were both doing antibodies. I will pray that all goes well with Jack's scans. It is such a tense time. We just got back from NY where Morgan had her scans.
I noticed that you are being treated at St. Jude's. There is a family there right now who is from our hometown. I think they could use some encouragement and hope right now. I know that we NB families are a pretty tight knit group. They are the Boyte family; their little girl is Lillie. Perhaps your paths will cross and seeing Jack will provide them with some hope.

Hello Beth,
I pray that Jack's scans go well. I met you @ Lana Beth's visitation Sat. night & I read all about Jack on the link on Lana Beth's page. Lana Beth was very lucky to have you as a friend. You seem like you really went the extra mile for them often, even as you have traveled a hard road yourself. I will be praying for your family this coming week, especially for Jack. Jack is such a handsome young man. I hope I get to meet him one day. Take care!

Beth, You and Jack will certainly be in my prayers as you travel to Memphis and Jack goes through his scans. I pray for safe travel and good news. Keep your faith strong as you walk with God and continue to accept the wonders of his love. If you ever need to talk, you know I'm here.

Beth,
I wanted to write to let you know how cute Jack is. Dan and I enjoyed playing and talking with him over the weekend during the visitation of Lana Beth. He is precious! I pray he will continue to thrive.
I also wanted to let you know what a wonderful friend you were and continue to be to the Websters. I am so amazed at how you all continue to hold up. The services were just amazing! Elizabeth still seems to be dedicated to find ways to raise money for Lana Beth's fund. She was so thrilled to have been a part of her life in such a small way.
Our family will continue to pray and become a part of Jack's friends. We just fell in love with his spirit and love of life.
I hope you are able to get some much needed rest. You are in our hearts. Kim Garey, better known as Elizabeth's mom

Jack:
It is hard to believe baseball season is already over for the Grasshoppers. I wanted you to know how happy it has made me to have you on my team for the past three years. I don't know if you realize it but you, Cade, and Alex have won 57 games and lost only 1 game in the past three years. This is quite an accomplishment for you three and I am very proud of all of you. It was a great year and you were a very big part of it.

I hope you have a great summer and tell your dad not to eat all of those peanuts at one time.

A PRAYER FOR CHRISTMAS

God Give Us eyes this Christmas
To see the Christmas Star.
And give us ears to hear the song
of angels from afar

And, with our eyes and ears attuned
for a message from above,
Let "Christmas Angels" speak to us
of hope and faith and love

Hope to light our pathway
When the way ahead is dark,
Hope to sing through stormy days,
with the sweetness of the lark

Faith to trust in things unseen
and know beyond all seeing
That it is in our Fathers love
We live and have our being

And love to break down barriers
of color, race and creed,
Love to see and understand
and help all those in need.

Lord, bless those we love this Christmas Day,be they near or far away Bless those good friends who mean so much and those with whom we're out of touch. We bring them all to You in prayer, and ask You to keep them in Your care.

Please know that you are thought of, in a very special way, not just this beautiful season but every day.

Hey there Jack, how are you doing? I hope you all are enjoying your summer!!! Did I ever tell you we found some bunnies in our backyard recently. Actually, our dog did - the kids were in the pool and she was barking like crazy under the pool deck. Finally when we checked there was a bunny nest with a baby bunny in it. Then after more looking through it we found 2 more. So since I have 3 kids and there was 3 bunnies, they each named one. We left lettuce and water and carrots out there but it was never touched so we dont think the mom came back. About 2 days later we took them in to feed them and we had them a week, feeding them kitten milk from a kitten bottle or dropper. They were SO cute! They called them Jean, Robin and Nibbles. My son Gooch called his Jean, named after Jean Smart in XMen. They opened their eyes while we had them and by the end of the week we had them they were running all over, more running than hopping. My husband was convinced they were going to grow up and bite our fingers off, so we turned them over to a Childrens Museum that is a wildlife rehab center near us. I hope they are being taken care of, if they werent already released. I know the kids loved them and they really were cute!! That was our thrill for the summer – hope you are enjoying yours!
